The aim of the research is to determine the impact of Project-based Learning towards students' co... more The aim of the research is to determine the impact of Project-based Learning towards students' communication skills. This research is an experimental study that using Pre-Experimental Design with One-Shot Case Study. The subject of the research are students of Science Education Program, Universitas Negeri Makassar) who were attending Motion and Change course. The research instrument was a non-test instrument that can be divided into two types: rubric and questionnaire. Data analysis was using descriptive and inferential statistic. The result of descriptive statistic exhibits that there is an enhancement of students' communication abilities after implementation of Project-based Learning. Eleven out of twentynine students are above level 1 category. The inferential statistic reveals that Project Based Learning has an effect toward students' communication skills.

There is a lack of information about the digital literacy skill of prospective science teachers i... more There is a lack of information about the digital literacy skill of prospective science teachers in Indonesia, specifically in South Sulawesi. The focus will be placed on their digital literacy skills in three dimensions: technical, cognitive, and social emotional. The population was undergraduate students from educational science program at three universities in South Sulawesi namely Universitas Negeri Makassar (State University of Makassar), Universitas Bosowa (Bosowa University), and IAIN Parepare (State Islamic Institute of Parepare). Sample consisted of 313 students. Results show that the average digital literacy skill is in the medium category.

These instructional models can be well implemented if those models can facilitate students with meaningful learning experiences such as reading, connecting prior knowledge to new information being learned in the classroom as well as doing investigation-based activities, discussion activities, and evaluation activities. The authors conducted the research to develop a ReCODE (Reading, Connecting, Observing, Discussing, Evaluating) instructional model and valid, practical, and effective tools. The procedures for developing the model included the preliminary research phase, prototyping phase, and assessment phase. This is motivated by problems encountered: (1) There is still a lack of good quality compost on the market, (2) Makassar has many horticultural and ornamental plant tips so that the demand for compost is also high, (3) compost production sites in Makassar is relatively small so that most compost in the market is obtained from other regions, thus increasing transportation costs and ultimately the price is more expensive. This study aimed to assess information literacy skills and communication skills of students in Biology department, State University of Makassar. The population of this study was all first year students (six classes), in the academic year of 2018/2019, who took the General Biology Course. Populasi dari penelitian ini adalah seluruh mahasiswa angkatan 2017/2018 di FMIPA Universitas Negeri Makassar yang telah memprogram matakuliah Biologi Dasar sedangkan sampel adalah mahasiswa angkatan 2017/2018 FMIPA sebanyak 114 orang. Sampel diperoleh secara purpossive sampling yaitu dengan mengambil perwakilan masing-masing jurusan dan berasal dari prodi kependidikan saja yang telah memprogram matakuliah Biologi Dasar. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan angket keterampilan metakognitif (MSI) dan angket motivasi yang dikembangkan oleh Keller.
