Today, we are proud to announce that Sitep Italia S.p.a., an Officina Stellare S.p.A Group company, has been awarded the contract to supply navigation sensor systems for the first five Next-Generation Coastal Mine Countermeasure Vessels (CNG-C) of the Italian Navy, currently under construction by Intermarine Spa, with an option for three additional vessels. This award marks a significant achievement for Sitep Italia S.p.a., reinforcing the long-standing relationship with Intermarine and highlighting Sitep's expertise in delivering mission-critical electronic systems for advanced naval defense platforms. As part of one of Italy’s most important naval modernization programs, Sitep will contribute its know-how in the design, integration, and support of cutting-edge navigation technologies, supporting the future operational capabilities of the Italian Navy. Officina Stellare S.p.A companies Logic S.p.A. Sistemi Avionici and Mavel S.r.l., together with NCM SpA, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) yesterday at the AIAD stand at the Farnborough International Airshow to develop #SHyPP (Small Hybrid Power Platform), an advanced hybrid propulsion platform for next-generation Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS). The agreement reinforces a shared commitment to technological innovation, industrial cooperation and the strengthening of strategic capabilities in the aerospace and defense sectors. By combining complementary expertise in intelligent energy management, high-speed electric generation and turbomachinery integration, the partnership aims to deliver a high-efficiency, scalable and flexible propulsion solution for future unmanned platforms. Sistemi Avionici, part of the Officina Stellare S.p.A Group, has been awarded a €1.2 million contract by Otto Aerospace for the development and supply of the Steering Control System for the new Phantom 3500 aircraft. Building on decades of expertise in flight-critical control systems and avionics electronics, Logic will develop a tailored solution designed to meet the program’s demanding requirements for safety, reliability, weight optimization, and operational performance. This award marks an important milestone in Logic’s growth strategy within the North American aerospace market and further strengthens the Officina Stellare Group’s position as a trusted technology partner for mission-critical applications across Aviation, Space, Defense Systems, Naval, and Cybersecurity. The project also establishes Logic as a long-term partner in the Phantom 3500 program, paving the way for future serial production and maintenance activities. Officina Stellare S.p.A expands its technological footprint with the acquisition of Mavel S.r.l. Officina Stellare has signed an agreement to acquire 100% of Mavel S.r.l., a high-tech company specialized in the design and manufacturing of rare-earth-free electric motors for Aerospace and Defense applications, as well as AI-based engineering design systems. This strategic transaction, whose closing is expected by October 2026, subject to the fulfilment of customary conditions precedent, including authorization from the competent authorities under the Golden Power regulation, strengthens Officina Stellare’s position in highly innovative and critical technology domains, expanding the Group’s capabilities in electrification systems for avionics, underwater platforms and unmanned systems, while accelerating the integration of artificial intelligence into engineering and product development processes. Today in Rome, the AIPAS – Associazione delle Imprese per le Attività Spaziali Shareholders’ Assembly, Association of Companies for Space Activities, took place, providing an important opportunity for discussion among industry stakeholders and representatives of the key institutions involved in the development of Italy’s space economy. Hosted at the Zest Hub in Rome Termini, the event focused on the theme “Vision and Strategies for the Italian Space Sector in a Challenging Geopolitical Context,” bringing together leading representatives from national institutions and the space industry. Participants included Simonetta Cheli, Director of Earth Observation Programmes and Head of #ESRIN at European Space Agency - ESA; Mauro Piermaria, Deputy Chief, Office for Space and Aerospace Policies; Rodolfo Soldoni, Director General of the Cabinet Office of the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy; Augusto Cramarossa, Head of Strategic Area at the Italian Space Agency (ASI); Colonel Rosario Colavero, Head of the Policy and Strategy Office of the Space Department, Italian Defence General Staff; and Major General Luigi Riggio, Space policies unit chief. Representing Officina Stellare S.p.A was Gino Bucciol, Co-Founder and Head of Strategy of the Officina Stellare Group, as well as Vice President of #AIPAS, who contributed to the discussions and dialogue with institutions on strategic issues supporting the growth and competitiveness of the Italian space sector.
