Construction is now underway on our Qualitas Energy Deutschland GmbH Ingstetten wind farm repowering project in Germany, following a groundbreaking ceremony held on 29 July and attended by local authorities and representatives of the community. Located in Baden-Württemberg, the project will replace five existing wind turbines with six state-of-the-art Enercon E-175 turbines, increasing the wind farm’s installed capacity to 42 MW. Once fully operational by the end of 2027, it is expected to generate enough renewable electricity to power approximately 28,000 households each year. We are proud to share that the project developed in partnership with NGO Mundo Cooperante to improve the electricity and water infrastructure at the Maria Inés educational centre in Obosi, Nigeria, has now been successfully completed. The school provides education, training and accommodation to more than 200 girls. The centre is equipped with a fully operational hybrid solar PV and battery energy storage system (BESS), providing a more stable and sustainable energy supply while reducing its exposure to grid outages. The system also powers the water pump, helping to ensure a consistent supply for the boarding facilities. In addition, enhanced lighting across the site has improved security and created better conditions for learning and daily life. This initiative forms part of Steps of Change, Qualitas Energy’s corporate social responsibility programme, and reflects one of our core values: responsibility, through our commitment to contributing to a better world for generations to come. Severin Hiller and Jose Maria Arzac, Partners & Co-Heads of Credit at Qualitas Energy, have been featured by Private Debt Investor in the article titled “Why infra credit managers are mission-critical to the energy transition”. The piece explores how lenders are ramping up their energy transition efforts against a backdrop of escalating power demand and a renewed emphasis on energy security. Among other insights, Severin notes that “AI is expected to become one of the main drivers of electricity demand growth over the coming years, particularly through the expansion of data centres, cloud infrastructure and digitalisation, reinforcing the long-term need for scalable and affordable power generation.” José María adds that “Looking forward, we believe the prospects for infrastructure debt within the energy-transition sector remain very strong, supported by the continued need for significant capital deployment across renewable generation, storage, grids, renewable natural gas and system flexibility.” Read the full story: https://lnkd.in/eSUWJW9V Learn more about our Credit strategy: https://lnkd.in/dcGATG7x #QualitasEnergy #QualitasEnergyTeam #PoweringChange #Sustainability #EnergyTransition #Credit
