Where Alpine challenges inspire architectural excellence. 🏔️ Nestled within an exposed mountain landscape, the Zasslerhütte demonstrates how architecture, engineering and design can work in harmony with nature. Designed by Stefan Klement, the project responds to the demanding conditions of a site characterized by significant avalanche risk. A hybrid timber and steel structure combined with a compact, aerodynamic building form minimizes exposure to natural forces while ensuring long-term resilience and safety. The architectural language draws inspiration from traditional Alpine typologies, reinterpreted through a contemporary lens. Vertical timber elements create rhythm, depth and a strong connection to the surrounding landscape, allowing the building to blend naturally into its environment. Inside, Kurt Steurer extends the architectural vision, creating warm and refined spaces where natural materials, comfort and craftsmanship reinforce the relationship between the building and its setting. The Zasslerhütte demonstrates how close collaboration between architecture, advanced timber engineering and interior design can transform the challenges of the Alpine environment into a distinctive architectural statement defined by resilience, functionality and design excellence. 📸 Klement Architects #klementarchitects #rubnerhaus #steurer

It's a wrap! 🙌 Rubner Haus was proud to be among the sponsors of the Pininfarina Summer Academy 2026, an inspiring program bringing international students together to explore the future of architecture and Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DfMA). With the selected participants, we had the opportunity to discuss the benefits of prefabrication, highlighting how early collaboration between designers, engineers and manufacturers allows technical feedback to be integrated from the outset, resulting in more efficient, buildable and sustainable projects.🌱 The programme also featured inspiring contributions such as Paolo Scoglio's lecture on nature-symbiotic architectural design, offering valuable perspectives on the relationship between architecture, nature and the built environment. A sincere thank you to Pininfarina and all participants for the inspiring exchange of ideas. Investing in the next generation of architects means investing in the future of our industry. 🤝 📸 Pinifarina #rubnerhaus #pinifarina #pinifarinaacademy

It all starts with a simple idea: listening to nature. 🌲 In 1926, in the mountains of South Tyrol, Josef Rubner built his first water-powered sawmill in Chienes. A visionary step that laid the foundation for a century-long journey defined by craftsmanship, innovation and respect. Today, we are proud to share our origins – the story of where it all began and the values that have guided us for 100 years and that continue to drive us forward. #rubnerhaus #sustainability #familyowned

Project of the Month - July: The Sweetest Light at Dawn 🏠 Where tradition meets contemporary timber architecture in the countryside of Cremona. Designed in close collaboration with architect Matteo Faroldi, this residential project blends local architectural heritage with a modern, sustainable approach to living. Inspired by the traditional farmhouses of the Cremona region, the design reinterprets the structural language of historic barns in the veranda and dining area. 📌 Key architectural features: • Natural stone-clad wall A striking element that runs through the house, clearly defining the transition between indoor and outdoor spaces. • Open-plan living concept The ground floor is organised into distinct functional areas that combine openness with everyday practicality. • A seamless connection with nature Generous floor-to-ceiling windows fill the interiors with natural light and create a fluid relationship between the home and the surrounding garden. 👉 Interessato/a? Do you know the Frame construction system? 🏡 It is one of the most advanced methods in modern timber engineering, engineered to combine complete architectural freedom, maximum energy efficiency, and construction speed. The Frame system relies on a structural skeleton made of high-strength glulam (glued laminated timber) premium spruce. Technical highlights: 👉 Engineered accuracy: Pre-fabricated wall elements are produced in quality-controlled environments, ensuring swift on-site assembly and seamless tolerances. 👉Thermal efficiency: The structural framework optimizes the insulation layers within the walls, delivering superior thermal performance and minimized wall thickness. 👉Design flexibility: This structural grid allows for boundless floor plans, diverse cladding options, and expansive glass facades to match any architectural vision. At Rubner Haus, we use advanced multi-layer timber technology to build highly customizable, low-energy homes that respect both people and nature. 🌱 Discover more about our construction systems here: https://lnkd.in/dT8AGN2K
