🇪🇺 It has been a long journey: after 3 years of work, last week in #Brussels we joined the final event of the Ace-ex Project, an EU-funded initiative aimed at innovating professional training in #circulareconomy across Europe. 🥽 With Softcare Studios, as technical partners, we collaborated with 19 partners across 9 countries, gathering their needs and domain knowledge to develop digital solutions to enable practical learning beyond geographical limits, increasing accessibility to actionable knowledge while also promoting digital literacy related to emerging tech such as #extendedreality. 💪 Together with our great team, we developed a set of #VR experiences simulating practical processes relevant for the circular economy field and a #seriousgame, dedicated to gamified skill and mindset acquisition. On 22 June in #Brussels, after 3 years of International work, we'll join the final event of the Ace-ex Project, reconnecting with the people who can turn those results into policy, into curricula, into real jobs. In 2023, we joined the ACE-EX consortium as technical partners, investing our digital tech expertise in supporting a European vocational curriculum for the #circulareconomy expert in agriculture, together with 19 partners across 9 countries. The challenge? Leverage the flexibility of technology to enable practical learning beyond geographical limits, increasing accessibility to actionable knowledge while also promoting digital literacy related to emerging tech such as #extendedreality. A recent #report aims to directly support the European Commission’s strategy by presenting a comprehensive analysis of the positive and negative #health and #wellbeing impacts of #virtualworlds on humans, across consumer, professional and industrial environments. The study pays special attention to how virtual worlds can impact the health and wellbeing of vulnerable groups, including children, older adults, persons with disabilities, and individuals with chronic and acute health conditions. 🥽 The recording of December's #panel “Beyond the Pilot: Scaling XR in Real-World Clinical Settings" at UnitedXR Europe 2025 is now online! 🔍 Over the last decade, we witnessed a significant growth in clinical investigations including #VR/#AR technologies. However, the number of related products on the market is significantly lower. At Softcare Studios, 2025 has been a great year of development of new #XR projects, distribution of our core #healthcare solutions, research and International collaborations. Several partnerships will keep growing in 2026, expanding virtual experiences we can't wait to share. This was also the year we finalised and delivered our twin projects, a serious game and a #VR experience, for Ace-ex Project, our first European-funded grant supported by an International consortium led by ITS Nuove Tecnologie della Vita - Giulio Natta Academy of #Bergamo. We invested our expertise in #XR technologies that we use to innovate #healthcare to expand the opportunities for the European #workforce to learn and acquire skills in #circulareconomy, bridging the gap between knowledge and physical presence. We're now happy to see the project being tested and growing across Europe, from Spain to Greece. We're excited to embark on a new year with such positive energy and new ambitious goals to share with our team, partners, customers and collaborators in Italy and beyond, bringing real impact with virtual solutions! This week we're back from #Brussels and the first edition of UnitedXR Europe, the biggest gathering of the European #XR community, reuniting entrepreneurs, researchers and policymakers working on #virtualworlds. 🥽 During the first day, our Valentino Megale, PhD joined the "Pharma, Healthcare & Wellbeing Track", chaired by Sonya Seddarasan, and together with Dr Jose Ferrer Costa and Gabriel Cerra (CEO at Immersive Oasis), we discussed with a very crowded audience what could be done to scale #XR solutions beyond #clinicalpilots. 🔍It was an opportunity to share pain points and best practices we've been experiencing at Softcare Studios over the past 10 years. Technology has advanced so much, but many foundational challenges, including clinical staff #technicaldebt and hospital #changemanagement, still require significant consideration if we want to go beyond feasibility studies and towards mature solutions.
