Need to extend an analog HD camera signal far beyond the limitations of coaxial cable? OptoHub’s AHD Media Converter transports AHD, TVI, CVI, and CVBS video signals over single-mode optical fiber—without compression and over distances of up to 20 km. Its compact, plug-and-play design makes it suitable for surveillance, monitoring, and infrastructure applications where cameras are located far from the control or recording system. Preserve the original video signal while gaining the distance and electrical isolation benefits of fiber-optic transmission. Why Evaluate Before You Design In? Engineering teams often need to verify camera compatibility, optical transmission performance, and system integration before committing to a new design. OptoHub is now offering our Complimentary Loaner Evaluation Program for the compact 4K Optical Interface Board. Designed for OEM and system integration, the board is compatible with select validated models of widely used commercial 4K camera modules featuring a KEL USL00-30L video input connector. It supports uncompressed 4K UHD video at up to 60 fps in a compact, board-level form factor. The evaluation unit is provided at no charge. Customers are responsible only for round-trip shipping costs. Sharing OptoHub’s latest post on the Light Output Camera concept presented at Image Sensing Exhibition 2026. What I find important about this concept is not only the shift from electrical output to optical fiber output, but also what that can mean for real-world machine vision system design. As camera systems move toward higher resolution, higher speed, and more compact integration, the interface architecture becomes increasingly critical. Optical transmission can help address challenges such as longer reach, higher-speed signal transfer, reduced heat, and lower EMI noise compared with traditional electrical cabling. This is also a good example of how OptoHub, backed by Mimaki Electronic Components’ optical transmission expertise, is exploring practical interface solutions for next-generation imaging applications. Excited to continue learning from the market and discussing where optical transmission can bring real value in machine vision, medical imaging, and industrial systems.

True 4K Optical Transmission for Next-Generation Surgical Lighting Systems As operating rooms become more connected and camera-equipped surgical lighting systems continue to evolve, video transmission requirements are becoming more demanding. High-resolution surgical imaging requires more than image capture. It also requires reliable transmission with low latency, high signal integrity, EMI-resistant performance, and mechanical flexibility for rotating arm architectures. OptoHub has published a new technical white paper discussing how optical fiber transmission can support next-generation surgical lighting systems, including: • Uncompressed 4K video transmission • Low-latency optical links • EMI-resistant transmission • Long-distance cabling • Lightweight and compact OEM integration • Conceptual use of fiber optic rotary joints for rotating architectures This paper also introduces OptoHub’s 4K Camera Optical Interface Board as a practical platform for OEMs exploring advanced surgical imaging integration. We welcome discussions with medical device OEMs, surgical imaging engineers, and system architects working on next-generation operating room technologies. Please read the white paper attached and send us your comments! #MedicalImaging #SurgicalImaging #OperatingRoom #OpticalTransmission #FiberOptics #4KVideo #MedicalDevices #OEM #SurgicalLighting #OptoHub

At Image Sensing Exhibition 2026, Hiroshi Fukui, Technical Advisor for Transmission System Technology at Mimaki Electronic Components Co., Ltd., presented a “Light Output Camera” product concept for machine vision applications. Mimaki Electronic Components, the parent company of OptoHub, has deep expertise in optical transmission technologies. OptoHub builds on this technical foundation to bring optical interface solutions into practical imaging and industrial applications. The concept integrates an E/O conversion module into the camera architecture, enabling optical signal output through fiber. This can help support: ✅Longer transmission distance ✅Higher-speed signal transfer ✅EMI-Resistant Optical Transmission ✅Reduced heat generation by eliminating the FPGA ✅More flexible machine vision system design As imaging systems continue to evolve, optical transmission can become a key enabling technology for next-generation machine vision. OptoHub will continue to explore practical optical transmission solutions for advanced imaging applications. #MachineVision #IndustrialImaging #OpticalCommunication #FiberOptics #OpticalTransmission #OptoHub
