A quantitative approach, using questionnaires, was adopted to survey 377 regular students from the University of Cape Coast, who mostly patronize public transport services, especially on vacations, public holidays and school reopening seasons. Data were analyzed, using descriptive statistics and Pearson’s product-moment correlation technique. The findings indicate that the respondents’ strongest perception of the state of public transportation was its importance to society. Public Procurement Act 663 of 2003 has experienced a number of reviews and amendments since indep... more Public Procurement Act 663 of 2003 has experienced a number of reviews and amendments since independence and have mostly been characterised by huge contractual payment arrears, corruption, delay in delivery of contracts, unsustainable foreign debts and excessive budget deficits. To address these and many other challenges, the Ghana Public Procurement Act 663 (2003) was promulgated and assented on 31 st December, 2003. Ten years down the line, compliance has become a major challenge in the implementation of the Act among public institutions in Ghana. This precipitated the conduct of this study to find out whether Takoradi Polytechnic fully complies with the provisions of the Act, and if so, are there any challenges that inhibit the smooth implementation of procurement activities. Subject to the nature of the population and the field of study, descriptive survey design was adopted for the study with questionnaires and semi-structured interview as the main data collection instruments. The findings of the study proved that Takoradi Polytechnic uses the Ghana Public Procurement 2003 (Act 663) in its procurement of goods, works and services from suppliers through the established Procurement Unit of the Institution. The study sought to examine the impact of social media advertising (SMA) on marketing performance... more The study sought to examine the impact of social media advertising (SMA) on marketing performance (MP) and the moderating effects of firm size and FoMO on the SMA-MP relationship from an emerging market context. Data from 248 SMEs in Ghana was analysed using PLS-SEM. The study's findings indicate that SMA has a positive and significant relationship with MP, suggesting that when SMEs invest in SMA initiatives, they are more likely to reap the benefit in terms of marketing performance. The study also found that firm size has a substantial negative but significant moderating effect on the SMA-MP association. Additionally, the study's findings also show that FoMO moderates the predictive association between SMA and MP in a positive and substantial way. Implications and avenues for future research are discussed.

Parliament passed a law to increase taxes on the importation of frozen chicken but that law has never been implemented due to pressures from the International Monetary Fund (IMF). This paper examined the challenges and prospects of the commercial poultry industry in Ghana. A synthesis of secondary data was sourced to assess the prevailing issues. Through descriptive survey design, 97 managers of these MSEs purposively selected and surveyed through self-administration of structure questionnaires. Both descriptive statistics (frequency and percentage) and inferential statistics (multiple regression) data analysis techniques were used to determine the research findings. The study examined the effect of tax administration and tax incentives on the growth of small and... more The study examined the effect of tax administration and tax incentives on the growth of small and medium enterprises in the Kumasi Metropolis of Ghana. Explanatory research design supported by the quantitative research approach was employed. Structured questionnaires were administered for the collection of the primary data from 115 SMEs operating in the metropolis. The multiple regression results revealed that tax administration accounts for a statistically significant positive weak variance in SMEs' growth, whilst tax incentives account for a statistically significant positive moderate variance in SMEs' growth. Firm size moderates the predictive relationship between tax administration and SMEs' growth. Medium enterprises have higher propensity in terms of tax compliance compared to small enterprises. Medium enterprises also have higher growth potential than small enterprises. Ghana Revenue Authority should implement preferential tax policies that support SMEs growth in Ghana with much emphasis on tax incentive packages to small enterprises.

It then assessed the mediating role of leadership support in that context. Design/methodology/approach: The study adopted an explanatory design. It quantitatively approached the measurement and testing of the proposed hypotheses. Through the drop-and-pick method, primary data were collected with the structured questionnaires. The population included permanent lecturers in the University of Cape Coast, and through simple random sampling technique, 430 lecturers were selected and surveyed. The study recorded a 100% response rate. Reflective structural modeling was applied to testing the hypotheses with the SMART pls application.

Moderating the Service Quality-Customer Loyalty Relation through Customer Satisfaction, Gender and Banking Status: Evidence from Mobile Money Users in University Of Cape Coast, Ghana

The study was conducted to assess the impact of service quality on customer loyalty for mobile mo... more The study was conducted to assess the impact of service quality on customer loyalty for mobile money services among university students when the effect of customer satisfaction, gender and banking status are statistically controlled for. The study targeted first degree students who were offering different programs in University of Cape Coast, Ghana. A total of 18498 students were targeted. Through the explanatory research design, structured questionnaires were personally administered to 377 participants who provided the primary data. Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) was used for the primary data analysis. Internal consistency of 0.759 was obtained for the instrument. Multiple regression, correlation and moderation analysis were conducted to test the hypotheses in the study. It was discovered that service quality predicted a significant positive variance in customer loyalty. Again, foreign remittance, ease of mobile money registration, interest on savings and airtime purchases made a significant contribution to the 17% variance in customer loyalty. The study proved that, gender and customer satisfaction, significantly moderated the predictive relation between service quality and customer loyalty whilst banking status did not. Security threats, high service charges, low interest on savings, and network failure were major challenges associated with mobile money services.
