[Clean Energy Fellowship Cambodia 2026 | Cohort 6] Last Saturday, Cohort 1 of the Clean Energy Fellowship Cambodia 2026 dove into Session 11: "Powering Cambodia's Energy Transition: From National Planning to Rural Electrification." 💡Fellows kicked off with interactive workshops on four key challenges: clean energy acceleration, just transition, rooftop solar, and electric mobility. They mapped market barriers and sharpened pitches for why these sectors need urgent priority. The session closed with a deep dive into Cambodia's Revised Power Development Master Plan (PDMP), covering the future electricity mix, procurement models, and remaining hurdles to rural electrification. These are insights Fellows will carry into their final think pieces. ⚡️We were also glad to welcome back alumnus Mr. Sovichea Saron, Head of Secretariat at the STAR Network. He shared an honest look at his writing journey, including mistakes, lessons, and tips for turning field research into a published think piece. A huge thank you to Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Cambodia and Clean Break Fund for making these conversations possible. ------ For more information: https://lnkd.in/gRW3hfE Organised by EnergyLab Asia Funded by Clean Break Fund and Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) #CleanEnergyFellowship2026 #CEF26 #CleanEnergy #EnergyLabAsia

Cambodia's electric vehicle sector is booming, and ensuring that the country has the skilled workforce to keep up with this demand is necessary. A recent EnergyLab Asia report, Cambodian Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Skills: Needs and Gaps Analysis, found that demand for workers is expected to grow significantly as Cambodia pursues its targets of sourcing 70 percent of electricity from renewable energy and electrify 30,000 EVs by 2030. Cambodia's clean energy ambitions are creating a new generation of skilled workers, like Oun Samdorn in Stung Treng, who gained hands-on training in solar sizing, battery maintenance, and repair, skills that point to real opportunity as the solar sector is expected to create over 11,000 jobs a year through 2040. How can Cambodia build a highly skilled and localised workforce that will meet this fast-growing demand? Read our full report: https://lnkd.in/gWTEiVZK https://lnkd.in/gDtEyteU
