🌊  Day of the Seafarer | 25 June Today is the Day of the Seafarer. We celebrate the people who keep global trade moving — often far from home and away from the spotlight. We spoke with Stepan Ievitchenko, First Officer aboard the MV Hermine, about life at sea: "Seafaring constantly challenges you to develop skills far beyond navigation. At different times, you have to be a navigator, a manager, a psychologist, a problem-solver — and sometimes even a doctor." And what drives him every day? "There is no finish line. If I can honestly say that I am slightly better than I was yesterday, then I feel a real sense of fulfilment." The services will become part of the CLdN network on 29th June. 𝐂𝐋𝐝𝐍 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐧 𝐁𝐨𝐰𝐢𝐞 𝐚𝐬 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐟 𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐫, 𝐂𝐋𝐝𝐍 𝐒𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 CLdN is pleased to announce the appointment of Cameron Bowie as the new Chief Operating Officer for CLdN Shipping. Cameron will join CLdN on 13 July from the global container liner shipping company Hapag Lloyd where he currently serves as the Managing Director UK & Ireland. Cameron has been with Hapag Lloyd for 36 years and brings a wealth of experience in the maritime transport industry. His expertise and perspectives are particularly relevant for CLdN as we broaden our scope in short-sea container shipping and expand our presence in the UK, Irish and broader European trades. Gary Walker, the current Chief Operating Officer of CLdN Shipping, will leave CLdN for retirement this summer. Gary has been with CLdN since 1997 and has overseen a significant and successful expansion of our shipping operations during his 12 years leading our shipping activities. 

𝐂𝐋𝐝𝐍 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐦𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐔𝐊 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐨 𝐋𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥   Earlier this month we finalized the move of CLdN's shipping operations from Luxembourg to the United Kingdom. This UK move is a natural evolution for CLdN; the company has been operating freight connections to the UK for more than 60 years and owns and operates port terminals in London, Killingholme and Liverpool. Furthermore, around three quarters of our sailings currently start or end in a UK port. CLdN will benefit from the talent pool and maritime expertise that the UK offers as a leading seafaring nation. In connection with the move, we welcomed UK Aviation, Maritime and Decarbonisation Minister Keir Mather to our London terminal in Purfleet on Thursday 21st May. A CLdN team, including CEO Florent Maes, provided a tour of the 130-hectare facility which is an essential trade gateway between the UK and mainland Europe; CLdN operates 17 return sailings per week between Purfleet to its ports in Zeebrugge and Rotterdam. CLdN management also gave its perspective on the current trading environment and held a briefing aboard the CLdN vessel MV Pauline. Minister Mather said: “CLdN’s decision to base its shipping operations in the UK underlines the strength of our ports, our people and our economy, and is exactly the kind of investment that drives growth, supports trade and creates quality jobs."
