  • CRD6: Harmonization, not simplification. In a recent article published by Paperjam, Partner Cathrine Foldberg Møller shared her insights on the implementation of #CRD6 and what it means for banks and lenders operating in the #EU.   While CRD6 is often discussed in the context of #regulatory change, its primary objective is greater harmonization of banking rules across Member States. The new framework aims to create a more level playing field, particularly in areas such as third-country access to EU markets, governance, supervision and #ESG risk management.   Cathrine highlights several key developments, including:   ✅ The introduction of a harmonised framework for third-country branches (Article 21C), requiring non-EU institutions to establish a regulated presence before providing certain banking services within an EU Member State. ✅ New expectations around ESG governance, with sustainability risks becoming an integral part of banks' risk management and decision-making frameworks. ✅ The importance of the 11 July 2026 grandfathering deadline, which has significant implications for existing contractual arrangements. ✅ Increased regulatory scrutiny of qualifying holdings and financial M&A transactions.   As one of the first EU Member States to transpose CRD6 into national law, #Luxembourg continues to demonstrate its commitment to providing a predictable and internationally oriented regulatory environment. Combined with its pragmatic supervisory approach, this early implementation offers valuable legal certainty for market participants navigating the new regime.   Read more in the article by Sylvain Barrette. • Recently, our interns had the opportunity to visit the Luxembourg Chamber of Deputies, guided by Gabor Papp.   This visit offered valuable insights into the functioning of Luxembourg’s #legislative system. Throughout the tour, the interns were able to: ⚪ Follow the journey of a Member of Parliament, from the reception area to the plenary chamber where laws are debated and voted on ⚪ Discover various meeting rooms within the Chamber ⚪ Gain a clearer understanding of how discussions are structured and how decisions are made in practice   The experience provided a concrete perspective on the legislative process, as well as on the key functions of the Chamber of Deputies and how the institution operates.   We are committed to #BeSupportive by empowering the next generation, and to #BeCollaborative by creating opportunities for learning and fostering cohesion beyond the workplace.   🙏 Thank you to the Chamber of Deputies for their warm welcome and this enriching exchange.   🔗 Looking for an internship in 2027? • 𝐖𝐞 𝐛𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐄𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞’𝐬 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐝𝐞𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐋𝐮𝐱𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐠, 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥, 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐥-𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐬. On 18 June at the Philharmonie Luxembourg / Luxembourg Philharmonic, we brought together speakers from NATO, European Investment Fund (EIF), the Defence, Security and Resilience Bank (DSRB) Development Group and leading European investors to discuss how capital can support security and long-term stability. What stood out was the shift in tone. Less about ambition. Much more about how to actually deploy capital. 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀: ▪ #Capital is available, but deployment remains complex: fragmented frameworks, regulation and risk still slow investment ▪ Public and private capital are converging: institutions act as catalysts, but scaling requires alignment and new structures ▪ Speed is a structural gap: #innovation in dual-use and deeptech is outpacing financing and procurement frameworks ▪ #PrivateCapital is ready, but needs visibility: clearer demand signals and more predictable pathways are key to unlocking scale The discussion pointed to a structural reality: #Luxembourg is where capital is structured, de-risked and deployed across jurisdictions. A big thank you to our speakers: Luis Muñoz, Robert Schaus, Xavier Guzman, Robbie Boyd OBE, Caroline Pimpaud, Sandra Golbreich, Max Buechner, Quentin Dupraz, Moritz Zimmermann, Oscar Farres, Arnaud Barthelemy and Anni Saedler We closed the evening with the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra Academy (LPOA). A reminder that these conversations, about capital and execution, also need space for perspective, talent and connection. If you are thinking about how to position capital in this environment, let’s continue the conversation.
