Africa Digital Health Summit (ADHS) 2026 was fantastic! 🎉 My first ever conference presentation. What an experience. It was exposing in many ways. It increased my confidence, my public speaking, created room for ecosystem connections and collaborations, and opened a way for many more presentations to come. One thing that stood out to me was seeing the African digital health ecosystem in action. Not just ideas, but real-life solutions creating impact and scaling across the continent. Conversations around interoperability, government involvement, sustainable digital health systems, and practical innovations showed how Africa is continually building solutions for Africa. The breadth of innovation was inspiring - from non-communicable diseases and communicable diseases to AI and digital innovation, EMRs, interoperability, and solutions reaching vulnerable populations. I was privileged to represent mymdoc and speak about our approach to co-designing and co-deploying digital and AI innovations with the people who use them. Because when building for real-world users, their voices, languages, accents, and lived experiences cannot be an afterthought. Interesting conversation and discussion following my presentation centred on the realities of Nigeria where we have over 500 languages, and even within one ethnic group, there are subgroups with distinct languages, dialects, and accents. In many cases, neighbouring communities may not fully understand, be familiar with, or even accept one another's language or accent. As AI capabilities continue to advance, this reinforces the urgency for African innovators to build solutions that truly reflect our cultural diversity. We have an opportunity - and a responsibility - to build AI that understands us, speaks like us, and resonates with the people it is meant to serve. Another highlight was our booth. The mDoc booth was packed! We welcomed partners, stakeholders, and attendees through live, interactive demonstrations of our CompleteHealth™ platform, NaviHealth.ai™, and our AI health coach, Kem™. It was an incredible opportunity to showcase our digital solutions in real time, connect with ecosystem players and collaborators, and share the measurable clinical impact we continue to achieve within the resilient communities we serve. I'm grateful for every conversation, every connection, every insight shared, and everyone who stopped by our booth. Last month, mymdoc team held a training and project kickoff in Kano state expanding our digital health innovation complimenting the Smiles for Mothers (SfM) initiative, bringing the implementation team together to align on objectives, workflows, and coordination ahead of field deployment. mymdoc is collaborating with SCIDaR - Solina Centre for International Development and Research in the SfM - complimentary phase to support the MAMII program in Kano, among other states, contributing to the shared goal of reducing maternal morbidity and mortality by strengthening health literacy, improving early risk identification, and supporting timely referral and linkage to care. The session included hands-on training on the digital tools that will underpin implementation: * CompleteHealthTM to support digital literacy, self-care education, participant engagement, and continuous monitoring * NaviHealth.aiTM to facilitate structured referrals and care linkages when clinical risk is identified Overall, the kickoff marked a clear shift from planning into active implementation. #mymdoc #scidar #MaternalHealth #NewbornHealth #DigitalHealth #HealthSystems #PublicHealth #mamii #Kanostate

Last month, I had the opportunity to represent mymdoc at the Africa Digital Health Summit (ADHS) alongside my colleagues. Throughout the conference, we showcased mDoc’s digital health ecosystem and shared how our four pillars, including our AI-enabled health companion (Kem) are helping improve access to person-centered care, strengthen self-care, and support better health outcomes. One thing I didn’t expect was how many meaningful conversations started with a simple question at our booth. Some people came to explore the technology, but many stayed to discuss the real challenges of implementing digital health at scale, from interoperability and AI to community engagement and sustainable adoption. Those conversations were easily one of the highlights of the conference. Beyond the booth, it was inspiring to connect with partners, innovators, policymakers, and fellow implementers who are all working toward the same goal of building stronger, more resilient health systems across Africa. It’s always refreshing to exchange ideas with people tackling similar challenges in different contexts, you leave with as many questions as insights. One takeaway I’ll carry forward is that the future of digital health isn’t just about building innovative technology; it’s about designing solutions that fit seamlessly into healthcare delivery, empower people to take charge of their health, and can scale sustainably where they’re needed most.
