Three weeks ago, we had the pleasure of attending the Congres Laadinfra '26 at the Rijtuigenloods in Amersfoort. It was great to see that this event once again brought together government representatives, grid operators, industry experts and businesses who are all working towards the future of charging infrastructure in the Netherlands. This year's central theme was "Taking Control of the Grid: Grid Congestion becomes a thing of the past." A highly relevant topic as the rapid electrification of transportation, industry and buildings continues to put increasing pressure on our electricity networks. Making smarter use of available capacity, unlocking flexibility and ensuring reliable charging infrastructure will be key to supporting future growth. For us at Trescal the event provided another excellent opportunity to raise awareness of a topic that is often overlooked but equally important: the periodic calibration and preventive maintenance of EV charging stations. As EV adoption continues to accelerate, consumers should have confidence that they receive exactly the amount of energy they are paying for. Accurate and traceable measurements are essential for transparency, trust and regulatory compliance. A charging station that drifts outside acceptable tolerances can result in inaccurate billing and reduced user confidence. Safety is equally critical. Regular inspections, calibration and preventive maintenance help identify wear, defects and potential safety risks before they become problems, while also improving charger reliability and uptime. The energy transition requires more than just installing additional charging stations. It requires safe, reliable and accurate charging infrastructure that consumers, businesses and governments can trust.
