🇳🇱 - 🇫🇷 Last week, Dutch Music Export had the pleasure of leading an inspiring trade mission to Paris, bringing together a fantastic group of Dutch music industry professionals, artists, and representatives for a curated program of networking sessions, roundtables, and company visits. A true highlight of the mission was the Dutch Impact Showcase at Point Éphémère, featuring performances by Min Taka, Naaz, and Davina Michelle, alongside an industry gathering that connected the Dutch delegation with its represented talent. It created a valuable space to meet, exchange ideas, and strengthen relationships within the Dutch network in Paris. A sincere thank you to all Dutch participants and the many French music professionals who contributed to making this mission such a success. Special thanks to Lilian Widdershoven and Gerco de Vroeg for their incredible support and warm hospitality at Atelier Néerlandais; Beate Gerlings and Reinout Huizer at the Nederlandse Ambassade in Frankrijk; Marine De Bruyn, Karin Koopmans, and our colleagues Benjamin D. and Corinne Sadki at Le Bureau Export | CNM and EMEE - European Music Exporters Exchange; Ferdinand Van Dalsen and the PieterSmitGroup; and of course to the artists, their managers Ann Bosmans, Ronald Keizer and Martijn Swier, and their crews. 🇫🇷🇳🇱 Trade Mission Parijs | 7–9 april 2026 Dutch Music Export organiseert van 7 t/m 9 april 2026 een nieuwe onafhankelijke handelsmissie naar Parijs, in navolging van het succes van de editie in 2024. Deze missie richt zich op het versterken van de samenwerking tussen de Nederlandse en Franse muziekindustrie en het creëren van duurzame internationale kansen voor artiesten en muziekprofessionals. Het driedaagse programma bestaat uit netwerksessies, panels, speedmeetings, bedrijfsbezoeken én een showcase-avond met drie Nederlandse acts. 🌎 - 🇳🇱... Trots om te delen dat Sena en Dutch Music Export een samenwerking zijn aangegaan. Tijdens Eurosonic Noorderslag hebben we officieel onze samenwerking met Sena aangekondigd om de internationale positie van Nederlandse muziekmakers verder te versterken. Met deze samenwerking verkennen we onder andere hoe Sena’s airplay- en gebruiksdata kan bijdragen aan nog betere monitoring en ondersteuning van artiesten in het buitenland, én kijken we naar gezamenlijke activiteiten rond internationale handelsmissies en structurele samenwerkingen met buitenlandse partners. “Deze samenwerking stelt ons in staat om nog gerichter te werken aan het vergroten van kansen voor Nederlandse makers en muziekprofessionals op internationale platforms,” zegt Marcel Albers (Directeur Dutch Music Export). “We zijn blij met deze samenwerking, die bijdraagt aan meer zichtbaarheid en ondersteuning van Nederlandse artiesten wereldwijd,” aldus Markus Bos (Directeur Sena). Samen zetten we een volgende stap in het vergroten van bewustzijn rondom internationale exploitatie en naburige rechten voor Nederlandse artiesten. 💪 --- ... 🇳🇱 | 🇪🇺 | 🌎 Onafhankelijkheid als fundament voor het Europese muziekjaar dat voor ons ligt Het afgelopen jaar heb ik van dichtbij gezien hoeveel mensen zich - vaak buiten de spotlights - met enorme inzet hebben ingezet voor de internationale positie van de Nederlandse muziek. Dank aan alle makers, professionals en collega’s die blijven bouwen, juist wanneer het ingewikkeld wordt. 🙏 Europa is, direct na de VS, een van de grootste muziekmarkten ter wereld. Dat is geen statistiek om trots op te zijn, maar een verantwoordelijkheid: het actief beschermen van onafhankelijkheid, creativiteit en cultureel experiment binnen een sector die steeds verder consolideert en waarin schaal en controle te vaak leiden tot uniformiteit en inhoudelijke verschraling. Juist daarom geloof ik in sterke, eigenwijze Nederlandse en Europese spelers. In labels, promotors, publishers, organisaties en platforms die durven kiezen voor visie boven conformiteit en voor een lange adem boven snelle winst. Onafhankelijkheid is ook in 2026 geen romantisch ideaal; zij leidt tot verrassende resultaten en stimuleert creativiteit, een noodzakelijke voorwaarde voor een gezond ecosysteem. Na jarenlang werken in deze sector weet ik: succes laat zich niet plannen in commissies en spreadsheets. Het ontstaat wanneer ruimte wordt gecreëerd om te onderzoeken, te ontwikkelen en te verrassen. Dank aan alle collega’s bij Fonds Podiumkunsten, Buma Cultuur, BumaStemra, DutchCulture, de betrokken ministeries, het buitenlandse posten-netwerk, EMEE - European Music Exporters Exchange, Popcoalitie, de brancheverenigingen en de sector als geheel voor het vertrouwen, de samenwerking en het gedeelde geloof in die ruimte. Veel dank ook aan alle DME-collega’s; aan Gert Jan en aan Antoinette, Dick en Paul als mijn meest kritische supporters binnen de RvT. Speciale dank aan Karin voor het ongelooflijke werk dat zij in 2025 heeft verzet.
