Hydrogen is moving from future promise to present-day decision. For years, it has been part of the energy transition conversation. Now, it is becoming a more immediate priority for governments, corporates and investors alike. Why? Because recent geopolitical tensions have once again exposed how vulnerable global energy supply chains can be. That is pushing energy security higher up the agenda — alongside decarbonisation. The strategic case is compelling. But scaling hydrogen will take more than ambition. It will take projects that can move from concept to capital — and from capital to delivery. That is where the real challenge begins. Want the full perspective? Read the article here: https://lnkd.in/eVa65ZhX Society is transitioning to a low-carbon economy. So are our clients, and so is ING. We finance a lot of sustainable activities, but we still finance more that’s not. See how we’re progressing on our climate approach:https://lnkd.in/g5U8_dkZ

Cash is king again and visibility needs to catch up. In a 24/7 economy, liquidity doesn’t wait for end-of-day reporting. Yet many treasury teams still rely on fragmented systems, manual processes, and backward-looking insights. That gap matters. Because today, treasury is no longer just about managing payments. It’s about steering funding decisions, optimising capital, and strengthening resilience. Real-time liquidity changes the game: • Up-to-date cash positions throughout the day • Enhancing certainty and control to drive impact • The ability to act when timing actually matters Not every process needs to be instant. But when it does, you need the visibility and control to move with it. The opportunity is already there, driven by instant payments, better connectivity, and smarter treasury systems. The question is how to turn that into practical impact. We explored what this means for treasury teams, and how to get started. 👉 Read the full article below https://lnkd.in/ecdwy7Du

ALPLA is a global manufacturer and recycler of plastic packaging—producing bottles, caps and other systems for industries such as food, beverages and healthcare. In March 2026, ING supported ALPLA with a EUR 1bn Sustainability-Linked Loan, acting as Sole Sustainability Coordinator, Mandated Lead Arranger and Bookrunner. The financing is linked to clear performance indicators, including reducing emissions, increasing the use of recycled materials, and improving health and safety. As ALPLA’s Sustainability Head puts it: “With the development of the Sustainability-linked Financing Framework, we are embedding our climate and circularity targets into financial decision-making, ensuring that sustainability contributes to both our strategy and our access to capital.” This framework helps connect operational priorities with financing—supporting access to capital while progressing circularity ambitions. For ING, it shows how financing is intended to support clients in putting their priorities into practice in day-to-day decision-making. Society is transitioning to a low-carbon economy. So are our clients, and so is ING. We finance a lot of sustainable activities, but we still finance more that’s not. See how we’re progressing on our climate approach: https://lnkd.in/g5U8_dkZ

Is China Europe's rival, or its pipeline? The global biopharma playbook is being rewritten. Tariffs are rising, geopolitics are reshaping markets, and a third of the world's new drug pipeline now originates in China. Washington is tightening its rules on access to it. Europe has not drawn the same line. Stephen Farrelly and Diederik Stadig unpack how China's rapid rise is reshaping the global biopharma landscape, and why many pharma companies now see Asia not just as a manufacturing base but as a critical engine for innovation and growth. Check out ING's Asia Pharma Outlook 2026 for the full analysis: https://lnkd.in/g_mEsXVB

€138 million to accelerate EV charging where it matters most. ING led a consortium of European financiers to provide up to €138 million in green financing to GreenWay, expanding EV charging infrastructure across Central and Eastern Europe. Why this matters: EV adoption in CEE is accelerating but charging infrastructure hasn’t kept pace. Bridging that gap is critical to making low-emission transport viable at scale. This financing supports: --Rollout across Poland --Stronger networks in Slovakia and Croatia --Expansion across the wider CEE region It’s also the first financing of its kind in the region for a pure-play EV charging operator, helping unlock capital for a fast-growing but still underfunded part of the energy transition. At ING, we focus on what enables progress in the real economy. Society is transitioning to a low-carbon economy. So are our clients, and so is ING. We finance a lot of sustainable activities, but we still finance more that’s not. See how we’re progressing on our climate approach: https://lnkd.in/g5U8_dkZ
