Whispp werkt binnen Project Yuzu samen met Dopple, NHL Stenden en Renesas Electronics. Het project wordt medegefinancierd door de Europese Unie. Project Yuzu richt zich op de ontwikkeling van een geminiaturiseerde, op maat gemaakte True Wireless Stereo-hearable. Het apparaat combineert slimme actieve gehoorbescherming met functies voor gehoorondersteuning. Binnen het project ontwikkelt Whispp machine learning-algoritmes voor duidelijke spraak in lawaaiige omgevingen. Het doel is om spraak die via de hearable wordt opgevangen om te zetten in een helderdere en natuurlijkere stem, ook op plekken waar conventionele microfoons moeite hebben. Project Yuzu brengt expertise op het gebied van hearable-ontwerp, embedded technologie, toegepast onderzoek en Voice Reconstruction AI samen om een nieuwe generatie intelligente hooroplossingen te verkennen. At the AI for Good Global Summit in Geneva, Whispp joined Qualcomm Technologies at the U.S. Pavilion, presenting alongside Aira in a showcase built around edge AI and accessibility. Whispp demonstrated real-time Voice Reconstruction AI running on device, reconstructing a person’s voice into a clear, natural output while preserving tone, accent, and expression. This technology powers private, discreet communication on the devices people already use. Aira presented its video remote interpreting platform, which connects people who are blind or have low vision to professional visual interpreters for secure, real-time access to visual information. Both demos pointed to the same shift: AI running locally, in real-time, and reliably enough to support people in everyday situations. For Whispp, this is what makes the work meaningful: bringing advanced on-device AI closer to the human moments where communication, independence, and access matter most. Whispp has raised €5 million to scale real-time, on-device Voice Reconstruction AI. The follow-on investment is led by LUMO Labs, together with Strategic Angel Investors and support from the EIC - European Innovation Council Accelerator. This marks an important next step in bringing Whispp’s technology to more devices, platforms and everyday communication moments. Whispp goes beyond speech enhancement. Instead of only removing noise or improving audio clarity, our Voice Reconstruction AI reconstructs speech characteristics that are diminished or lost, directly on the device. That means whispered speech can become a clear, natural voice in real time, without relying on the cloud. With this funding, we will continue to advance our AI models, develop new products, expand our patent portfolio, grow partnerships with device manufacturers and semiconductor companies, and build the team for the next phase of global deployment. Whispp started with a deeply human mission: supporting people who lost their voice to illness and those who stutter severely. That ambition remains part of our long-term direction.
