📢 We are pleased to introduce Aike Jeucken, who recently joined Pivot Park as Coordinator of Education & Lifelong Learning. In this new role, Aike will focus on strengthening the connection between education, talent development and the life sciences sector. A key part of his work will be developing the Pharma Academy, a new initiative offering lifelong learning opportunities for professionals at Pivot Park and beyond. Further information will be shared in the coming months. He will also support educational activities across the campus and help establish partnerships with schools, universities and training providers. These partnerships will create opportunities for students, employees and companies to learn and grow. Aike studied Chemistry and obtained a PhD in Biochemistry from Utrecht University. Throughout his career, he has worked in academia, industry and education, including positions at the University of Groningen, MSD Oss and Avans University of Applied Sciences. 𝗔𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗽 𝘁𝗼𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝗮 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗶𝘃𝗼𝘁 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗸 Over the past few years, significant investments have been made to improve the sustainability of existing buildings at Pivot Park. Following a reassessment by certified energy assessor ASBO (Rosmalen), both the Chesbrough & Van 't Hoff and Zwanenberg buildings have now achieved an A+ energy rating. As a result of the sustainability upgrades, the Chesbrough & Van 't Hoff buildings improved from energy label C to A+, while the Zwanenberg building progressed from D to A+. The improvements include: 🔸 Ground source heating and cooling (WKO), including a heat pump and heat exchanger 🔸Energy-efficient LED lighting 🔸Enhanced roof, pipe and equipment insulation 🔸Solar PV installation on the Chesbrough & Van 't Hoff building Together, these improvements help reduce energy consumption and CO₂ emissions, reflecting Pivot Park’s commitment to sustainable operations and contributing to our ambition of creating a more sustainable, future-ready campus.

"A great opportunity to connect with colleagues across campus" - Pivot Park Community Member   That is exactly what the Pivot Park Summer Festival is all about. Last week, we welcomed almost 300 members of our Pivot Park Community for an afternoon of great conversations, delicious food and new connections. Although the day started with a little rain, it certainly didn't stop our community from coming together.   A sincere thank you to everyone who joined us and helped create such a welcoming atmosphere. Special thanks to Bus van Zus and all partners who contributed to making this year's Summer Festival a success.   Here's to many more moments of connecting our community!

From 15 to 19 June, Radboud University, in collaboration with HAN University of Applied Sciences, Crossfire Oncology and Pivot Park organized the Summer Course Essentials of Drug Discovery. An inspiring programme that gave participants a broad and practical view of what it takes to move from an early scientific idea towards a potential therapy. What clearly stood out is that drug discovery is not a linear process, but a multidisciplinary journey in which many areas of expertise, perspectives and decisions come together. Throughout the week, participants gained a deeper understanding of the complexity, opportunities and challenges involved in developing new medicines. They also worked in groups on their own drug development proposal, helping them translate the knowledge gained during the course into a more integrated understanding of how a drug discovery project is built. We look back on the Summer Course at Pivot Park with gratitude to all the speakers for sharing their knowledge, experience, and insights with the participants and the Pivot Park community.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, he became a familiar face across the Netherlands as Pfizer's Medical Director, explaining the science behind vaccination. Before that, Marc Kaptein, M.D., had already built an impressive career at Organon, Eli Lilly and MyTomorrows. He is currently Director of External Affairs at Pfizer Netherlands.
