PosHYdon is daar een mooi voorbeeld van: een innovatief initiatief waarin praktijkervaring wordt opgedaan met de productie van groene waterstof op zee en de toepassing van bestaande offshore infrastructuur. Voor SEW Energy was dit een waardevolle samenwerking waarin we onze kennis en expertise hebben kunnen inzetten binnen een project dat bijdraagt aan de verdere ontwikkeling van waterstoftechnologie. Juist door samen te werken met sterke partners en innovatieve oplossingen in de praktijk te testen, worden belangrijke stappen gezet richting de energievoorziening van de toekomst. 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗦𝗲𝗮: 𝗣𝗼𝘀𝗛𝗬𝗱𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗵𝘆𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗲𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 This summer marks an important milestone in the energy transition. The PosHYdon project has successfully started the production of green hydrogen on an operational offshore platform. On the Q13a-A platform, located approximately 13 km off the coast of Scheveningen and operated by Eni Energy Netherlands, a world-first integrated energy system is now in operation, combining offshore wind energy, hydrogen production and natural gas production at sea. Using electricity generated from offshore wind, seawater is converted into demineralised water and subsequently into green hydrogen through electrolysis. This achievement marks the start of the offshore test phase and demonstrates that offshore green hydrogen production can be both feasible and safe, while supporting the development of a future-proof energy system in the North Sea. PosHYdon is more than a technical demonstration. The pilot is designed to: * Test electrolysis under variable offshore wind conditions * Build knowledge on offshore costs, maintenance and system performance * Gain practical experience with integrating energy systems at sea * Demonstrate how existing offshore infrastructure can be repurposed for a sustainable future Read the news item here: https://lnkd.in/ew53vuSs This milestone is the result of close collaboration between public and private partners, supported by the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy.
