What a great High Tech Campus Open Day!    Last Saturday, we had the pleasure of welcoming many visitors to the High Tech Campus and our stand, introducing them to the fascinating world of integrated photonics.   Visitors explored our technology, met the team behind it, and got a hands-on look at our wafers and chips through the microscope. We also saw plenty of future engineers and scientists proudly trying on cleanroom suits and posing with fresh wafers. 😉 The curiosity, enthusiasm, and countless smiles made the day a great success.   Thanks to everyone who visited us, to High Tech Campus Eindhoven for organizing this event, and especially to our colleagues who helped make the day a success: Tim van Nuland, Thijs Buckers, Ingmar Buil, Brenda Mesters, Wendy van Oorschot, and Tim Van der Laan.

SMART Photonics was proud to participate in Brabant Innovation Day 2026 (BID), strengthening the connection between the Brabant and Japanese high-tech ecosystems. 🌍✨   Under the theme ‘From Promise to Practice’, organisations including PhotonDelta, TNO, Holst Centre, PITC - Photonic Integration Technology Center, World Class Maintenance and more engaged with Japanese partners and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Japan. The focus: accelerating progress in semiconductors, integrated photonics and advanced manufacturing. Hitachi High-Tech Europe, Dexerials Europe B.V. and DNP Dai Nippon Printing Co., Ltd., all established in Brabant, shared their experience working within the ecosystem. Kamiel Dankers, Senior Account Manager of SMART Photonics: “BID allowed us to connect with the strong Japanese photonics ecosystem. Momentum is building on the 6-inch fab construction! The project has achieved several important milestones towards becoming operational in 2027: ✅ The foundation is complete ✅ The concrete floor has been poured across the entire building footprint ✅ Construction of the walls is well underway with more visible progress each day Led by TNO, this 6-inch pilot line represents a major step forward in strengthening Europe’s photonic chip manufacturing capabilities. As both a knowledge provider and future tenant within the cleanroom facility, SMART Photonics is proud to contribute to this much needed ecosystem initiative. Curious to follow the journey?
