The world's first Awareable™️. Designed for a healthier, more meaningful life.

Over ons

NOWATCH is an Amsterdam-based health innovation company, and the creator of the Awareable™ — a new kind of device, built to be nothing like a smartwatch or fitness tracker. We're a team of entrepreneurs, engineers and data scientists, and we design, develop and manufacture every product ourselves, in Europe, with research-grade sensors in every device. At the core of it is our proprietary Reactivity Monitor™: it continuously tracks your body's stress response, quietly surfacing cumulative load patterns no other consumer device can pick up at this level of detail. We built NOWATCH on one principle: technology should serve people, not exploit them. Your health data is never monetised. Insights are never paywalled. Data rights are human rights. If you're passionate about helping people live healthier, more meaningful lives, we want to hear from you.

  • Most women probably know the sudden spike of panic when their period doesn't show up on time. You start doing the mental math, replaying the last few weeks. But how often do you stop and ask why it's actually late? Research shows that 14–25% of women experience cycle irregularities. What NOWATCH can show you is how that late period coincides with your stress data. We're probably all familiar with our cycle affecting our life, but what a lot of people don't realise is just how much your life can affect your cycle. How exactly? Discover more here: Can Stress Delay Your Period? How Stress Affects Your Menstrual Cycle https://lnkd.in/ejQ52r9D Cited research:  https://lnkd.in/e66_Y5rX

  • Ever get a sudden rush of emotions right before your period? It's not a character flaw, it's hormones. While a certain amount of hormonal fluctuation is completely normal, some changes can also be a sign that something is wrong. There’s a science behind what's happening in your body during each phase of your cycle. Discover how these changes might affect your mood and what you can do to best look after yourself here: Why Do I Feel So Emotional During My Period? • Introducing NOWATCH Cycle Patterns — the first health tracking feature to connect the menstrual cycle to the body's real-time stress response. The relationship between your cycle and your daily life runs two ways. Just as your cycle shapes how your body handles everyday stress, sleep, and recovery, your daily choices, like how you move, when you sleep, the demands you absorb also shape your cycle in return. Many people who menstruate sense this intuitively, what Cycle Patterns provides is a way to track it. These aren't things a daily score can surface, they're patterns that emerge from continuous, long-term data which is why the Reactivity Monitor™ tracks nervous system activity every 10 seconds. Cycle Patterns overlays your cycle phase onto all of its metrics, in one view, helping you connect the dots over time. Your stress load, your sleep quality, your ability to bounce back — finally visible alongside your cycle. So you can start adjusting, not just pushing through. ✓ Entirely designed and developed by a team of women, led by Chief Product & Science Officer Joana de Calheiros Velozo, PhD ✓ Built with privacy at the core: all cycle data stored locally by default, fully GDPR-compliant, no third-party data sharing. Ever. Read more about Cycle Patterns → https://lnkd.in/ehni-e7m Available now on iOS. Included in the subscription-free NOWATCH app.

Come to our London giveaway 🇬🇧 The first 40 people through the door will receive a free NOWATCH. Here's why we're co-hosting this one: NOWATCH is a wearable that does things differently. Deliberately non-addictive, we have no screen, no constant notifications and no scores. We believe tracking matters, but how you track matters just as much. Our approach is designed to improve your physical health without compromising your mental health. That's what we call 'compassionate tech'. So when our long-time ambassador Sarah Ann Macklin told us she was writing a book built on the same belief, we had to be part of it. We're living through peak wellness overwhelm. Cold plunges, dopamine detoxes, cortisol diets, it's harder than ever to separate genuine advice from noise. Ex-model turned leading nutritionist Sarah-Ann fuses the science of nutrition, gut health and neuroplasticity to reveal a radical truth: self-compassion is the foundation of lasting health. Sounds familiar, right? Sarah-Ann will be signing copies of her new book Healthy Shouldn't Be This Hard, before she and our CEO Timothée Manschot host a self-compassion workshop together. Also on the night: → Goodie bag curated with picks from Planet Organic → Breathwork session with a world-leading athlete → Hand reflexology → Physio sessions 📅 6:30pm 📍 Magma Bookstore, Mare Street Market, King's Cross — 2 Lewis Cubitt Square, London N1C 4DY 👉 SIGN UP HERE: https://luma.com/5drhzlxt

We spent two days at LIVELONG San Francisco. 2,000 people, 90 speakers, a lot of honest conversation. Here’s what stuck with us most: "I want my data, not averages." Dr. Stacy Sims said this on stage and people clapped like they'd been waiting to hear it. Most wearables are trained on data that doesn't reflect a huge chunk of the people wearing them. It's a real problem, and this room knew it, so did we. That’s why with NOWATCH, your benchmarks are built around your own personal averages, not anyone else's (certainly not just men's). "I need to know what my body can actually handle." A woman with chronic fatigue said her device tells her something happened, but not what to do with that information. That's the gap we’re closing. Our continuous monitoring shows you the load on your body in real-time, so you know when you can push and when you should pause. "I don't need more alerts." The idea of a device that runs quietly in the background, without constantly demanding your attention, made immediate sense here (no explanation needed). "Where does my data go?" The question mark over data privacy came up constantly and people wanted a straight answer. Ours? Simple: it stays with you, no third-party sharing. "No subscription?!" To us, this matters beyond the price point, it's about what kind of relationship a company wants to have with its users. We don’t want to be plugging our app with addictive features that keep dragging you back. Thanks to Livelong Media™ and Brad Inman for this amazing event and Sahil Chopra, MD and Stacey Gunn, MD for the great collective panel on sleep. Most smartwatches and fitness trackers are butt ugly! Seriously, I’ve tried them all. Fitbit circa 2014 when we were tracking steps and maximizing fertility. Garmin watches for fitness, exercise, GPS and Ironman training. Oura ring for years of sleep, stress, and exercise tracking. The Garmin lily for a moment last year. I found that most are distracting. Many are ugly. Some are inaccurate. Then, I got a NOWATCH. First up – it’s beautiful. To Miuriel Feliks Kochva, Tom van Rooijen and team, wow. Simply WOW! Secondly – it’s not distracting. No buzzes or dings. It doesn’t ring when my phone does and it doesn’t show me texts. It does ask me to check in with myself and my stress level throughout the day. Thirdly – it’s incredibly accurate.  It tracks steps, stress, sleep – the big three. Monitoring core temperature, activity level, and rest time throughout the day. The science that NOWATCH and Joana De Calheiros Velozo, PhD put into this gorgeous tech is second to none! I’ve worn my NOWATCH simultaneously with my Garmin and stepcounts were within 100 steps for the day. I’ve worn my NOWATCH with my Oura ring and sleep was spot on, stress tracks, and the steps matched almost exactly. I’ve worn it every day for months and gotten so many compliments . From my adorable 80 year old neighborhood car wash attendant to patient after patient, including one who designed and repaired watches for a living. I’m a nerd for health data, my patients and my own. I love having a step tracker that matches every outfit and doesn’t distract me from my life, my work and my patients. I got the Gold Classic Nagano, NOWATCH X with the classic black and oak leather strap. It’s an everyday piece for me and the customer service has been second to none. If you are in the market for a fitness tracker that isn’t ugly or distracting, NOWATCH is your best bet! This is *not* a paid ad but to Laura Moreno Londoño & Timothée Manschot -- call me 😉 I'm already shouting about NOWATCH from the rooftops & would love to tell my podcast listeners about it, too!

  • Sarah Macklin’s story is one many ambitious people will recognise: stepping into the right room, while wondering if others think you should be there. What she learned was that self-trust isn’t built by working so hard to prove yourself that you burn out. It comes from silencing the voices that don’t matter, and focussing one the one that does: your own. Sometimes, that voice might encourage you to push, but it might also tell you to pause. Make sure you listen. #TrustYourself

  • There’s a moment before every big leap or bold decision: a heartbeat where doubt creeps in, when the world might seem to feel too loud or too fast. This is when you make the choice: to step up or back down. Most people pause or second guess. Our new Trust Yourself campaign is about those who don’t. At NOWATCH, we’ve partnered with three inspiring culture shapers: world-famous yoga practitioner Eddie Stern, punk artist and rapper Ray Fuego, and scientist, author and podcaster Sarah Ann Macklin. In this video series, they each share a personal story of learning to trust their body, instincts, and inner signals. Here are three individuals who move through very different worlds, but there’s one shared message: trusting yourself isn’t about knowing what will happen. It’s about knowing you can handle it. This campaign celebrates people who live with intention, who listen inward and choose their own path even when it might feel uncertain. We know that learning to trust yourself is a journey, and NOWATCH is here to support you along the way. Our health tracker helps you understand what’s really going on inside. Instead of chasing scores, closing rings, or measuring yourself against global averages, NOWATCH focuses on you. By combining your physiological data with your own reflections on mood and emotion, it reveals what genuinely helps you, as an individual, feel your best. NOWATCH shines a light on one of the body’s most powerful systems, often overlooked: the nervous system. The communication network between brain and body, it influences how you respond to stress, how deeply you sleep, how well you recover, and how much energy you have day to day. When your nervous system is balanced, everything else works better, from emotional resilience to physical performance. NOWATCH supports you in building the skills to regulate your nervous system, so you don’t just handle life’s demands, you move through them with more ease, clarity, and confidence. It helps you build the kind of trust in your body where, whatever life throws at you, you know your mind and body will carry you through. Every heartbeat. Every moment. Every choice. #TrustYourself Read more about our campaign: https://lnkd.in/eBtWV-VF

After years of work, today’s the day… We’re proud to announce the launch of NOWATCH B, our sleekest health tracker yet. Chic and comfortable enough for everyday wear, we’ve disguised cutting-edge science in the timeless design of a classic watch. Inside its ultra-thin, lightweight frame are research-grade sensors, delivering 24/7 tracking while blending seamlessly into your life. At NOWATCH, we’re on a mission to help people know themselves better and learn what they need to live a fuller, richer life. Going beyond steps and sleep, our proprietary Reactivity Monitor measures heart rate and motion every second, analysing this information every 10 seconds to create a unique, minute-by-minute timeline of how your body responds to daily life. Unlike most wearables, NOWATCH B is deliberately screen-free. It’s built to help you live more fully in the world around you, not constantly checking a device to tell you how you feel. It's like having your own personal health companion on your wrist, silently watching over your health without constantly dragging you back to a screen. What else sets it apart? Apart from its natural beauty it also has…. Science-backed Insights, enhanced by AI: Instead of giving you endless summaries, daily reports or addictive scores, AI Insights spots meaningful patterns across metrics like sleep, stress and activities that you might otherwise miss, and alerts you only when there’s something worth looking at. At NOWATCH, AI is always opt-in rather than opt-out. Stress Recovery Tracking: A metric no other wearable offers. “Stress recovery shows how well your body regulates itself, one of the most powerful predictors of long-term health,” explains Dr. Joana De Calheiros Velozo PhD, our Chief Product and Science Officer. “By tracking your stress recovery, you can see how your body is handling daily demands and learn to bounce back more quickly." From your deepest sleep to your sharpest focus, NOWATCH B is here to help you understand your body better and give it what it needs to live a fuller, richer life.
