Our 2025 Annual Report is out! 📣 🏛️ Last year, we stayed active in key EU policy discussions, from deforestation and organic regulations, to public procurement, corporate accountability, unfair trading practices and much more. 🥐 We held our annual Fair Trade Breakfast at the European Parliament, bringing together 70+ MEPs, Commission representatives and civil society. 🌍 We strengthened our connection to the Fair Trade Movement through exchanges and field visits in countries including India, Ghana and Peru. 🤝 We deepened our collaboration with policymakers, embassies, trade unions, farmers' organisations, academia, social economy actors and beyond. We couldn't have done this without the partners, allies and collaborators we had the privilege to work with in 2025. Here's to continuing this journey toward justice, equity and sustainable trade together. 📄 Read more: https://lnkd.in/eA9SmEd5

For this month's Fair Fashion Feature, we're turning the spotlight on WEAVE ✨ Working with ethnic minority women along the Thai-Burma border since 1990. Weave Fair Trade supports indigenous and refugee women from Burma by transforming long-held weaving, embroidery, and sewing traditions into #Safe, #FairlyPaid work that fits around #Family life. Its focus has always been on long-term opportunity, building on: 📚 Education 🛠️ Vocational and leadership training 🤝 Business support Many women begin by earning an income from their craft while caring for their families. From there, some go on to launch their own businesses, mentor others or take on #Leadership roles within their #Communities. The key lesson behind WEAVE's approach is simple: when women get the chance to build something lasting, so does #Everyone around them. 🔭 Discover more about WEAVE’s work and many other Fair Trade Fashion Enterprises in our new Fashion Member Search tool: https://wfto.com/fashion/ #FairTradeFashion #EthicalFashion #WFTO #ArtisanMade #SlowFashion #Gateway2FairTradeFashion #BusinessRevolution

If you were to wander through the highland pastures of Armenia, you would find a region rich in tradition, skill and passion, the three values that define the country’s historic wool industry. 🇦🇲🐑 Yet, a few years ago, much of this heritage was slipping away. Between 2023 and 2024, Homeland Development Initiative Foundation - HDIF, a World Fair Trade Verified Fair Trade Enterprise, together with local and international partners, mapped out the local #Wool value chain. They discovered that without the right local processing infrastructure, over 1,500 tonnes of raw wool were being wasted or burned every single year. Their solution became Arm. wool, a #Blockchain-based traceability system that traces every step of the value chain—from sheep farmers to yarn production and final textile products— 🧑🌾👩🎨💁♀️ with the information compiled into a Digital Product Passport (DPP), ensuring that verified #Data on each fibre's geographic origin, Balbas breed genetics, season of shearing, annual yield, and environmental context is transparently documented. But this technology is simply a tool to support the #People at the heart of it. Based at a new spinning centre in Amasia, ArmWool is a women-led project creating stable #Jobs and #Training in rural border areas. It gives local artisans a way to earn a fair living while keeping their traditional #Artistry alive through ♻️ zero-waste, environmentally friendly practices. Instead of relying on imported synthetic materials, HDIF is rebuilding a #Transparent, local wool industry right in the Shirak province. I’m delighted to share the launch of the new Gateway to Fair Trade Fashion (G2FTF) Toolkit Series; a collection of practical resources designed to support Fair Trade fashion enterprises as they navigate a rapidly changing industry. Over the past months, I had the privilege of contributing to the development of two of these toolkits: 📖 Brand–Producer Collaboration Toolkit Helping brands and producers build stronger partnerships through better communication, co-creation, responsible sourcing, and fair collaboration practices. 🌿 Sustainability in Fashion Toolkit Designed to make sustainability, circularity, impact measurement, and buyer expectations more accessible and actionable for Fair Trade producers. The series also includes the EU Compliance Toolkit, developed by WFTO Europe Team, providing practical guidance on emerging EU regulations and what they may mean for Fair Trade enterprises. What I appreciate most about these resources is that they don’t assume producers are starting from zero. Many Fair Trade enterprises have been putting sustainability, transparency, and social impact into practice for decades. These toolkits help translate those strengths into the language increasingly used by buyers, brands, and regulators. You can find them here: https://lnkd.in/dDs5TF_C A huge thank you to everyone involved in the Gateway to Fair Trade Fashion project for making these resources available to the wider Fair Trade community. #FairTrade #SustainableFashion #CircularFashion #WFTO #EthicalFashion #WomenLedBusiness #SocialEnterprise #ResponsibleSourcing #GatewayToFairTradeFashion
