Legal Council

We are looking for a commercially minded and analytically strong Legal Counsel to join our growing international organization.

In this role, you will be the trusted legal business partner for management and operational teams across Europe. You will provide practical legal advice, support commercial transactions, manage legal risks, and contribute to strengthening our compliance framework. In addition, you will play an important role in privacy, regulatory affairs, and corporate governance within a dynamic and highly regulated international environment.

Your impact

1. Legal Advisory & Commercial Contracting

As the primary legal advisor for the European organization, you will:

• Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, including distribution, supplier, service, confidentiality and partnership agreements
• Draft and maintain general terms & conditions, legal templates and standard documentation
• Provide practical, business-oriented legal advice to management and internal stakeholders
• Identify legal risks and provide pragmatic solutions that support commercial objectives
• Support dispute management and coordinate external legal counsel where required
• Contribute to corporate governance and other general corporate legal matters

2. Compliance & Ethics

You will help strengthen and further develop our compliance culture by:

• Supporting and further developing the European compliance framework
• Advising management on compliance-related matters
• Developing and maintaining policies, procedures and internal guidelines
• Supporting compliance awareness and promoting ethical business conduct
• Monitoring legal and compliance developments relevant to our business

3. Privacy & Data Protection

You will act as a key advisor on privacy and data protection matters by:

• Advising on GDPR compliance and privacy-related questions
• Reviewing and negotiating Data Processing Agreements (DPAs)
• Supporting implementation of privacy-by-design principles in business processes
• Monitoring developments in European privacy legislation and advising on their business impact
• Supporting internal privacy awareness initiatives where appropriate

4. Regulatory Affairs

Working closely with internal stakeholders, you will:

• Advise on European regulatory requirements applicable to medical devices and software, including the Medical Device Regulation (MDR) where applicable
• Support regulatory compliance initiatives across European markets
• Contribute to regulatory risk assessments and compliance monitoring activities
• Monitor regulatory developments and translate them into practical business guidance

5. Risk Management & Business Partnership

As a trusted business partner, you will:

• Conduct legal and compliance risk assessments
• Translate complex legal requirements into practical and understandable business advice
• Support process improvements and legal standardization initiatives
• Partner with commercial, finance, HR and operations teams to facilitate sustainable business growth

Who are you?

You are a pragmatic and business-oriented legal professional who enjoys working in an international environment. You know how to balance legal risks with commercial objectives and communicate complex legal matters in a clear and practical way.

You bring:

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Law
• Approximately 3–6 years of relevant legal experience gained in-house and/or at a law firm
• Experience with drafting and negotiating commercial contracts
• Solid knowledge of commercial law, contract law and corporate legal matters
• Good understanding of GDPR and privacy legislation
• Experience with compliance programmes and ethics frameworks
• Experience within a regulated industry (such as MedTech, healthcare, life sciences or technology) is considered an advantage
• Affinity with European regulatory frameworks applicable to medical devices and software is a plus
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• A proactive, pragmatic and hands-on attitude
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Fluency in English and Dutch, both written and spoken
