Congratulations to Propulse NTNU on a successful launch of Fossekall! Today, Propulse NTNU successfully launched Fossekall, Norway's most advanced student-built rocket, from Spaceport Trøndelag at Tarva. After initial launch attempts was safely aborted due to an ignition system issue, the student team identified the problem, implemented the necessary corrections, and successfully completed the mission later in the launch window, a testament to outstanding engineering skills, professionalism and disciplined launch operations. With more than 70 NTNU students contributing thousands of volunteer hours, Fossekall showcases world-class expertise in propulsion, electronics, software, systems engineering and launch operations. The mission also carried the maiden flight of a research payload developed by Eclipse NMBU, highlighting the strength of collaboration between Norway's student space organisations. Projects like Fossekall demonstrate why investing in student-driven innovation matters. By bringing together academia, industry and the Armed Forces, initiatives such as Spaceport Trøndelag help develop the engineers and technologies that will strengthen Norway's future capabilities in aerospace, defence and dual-use technologies. As a proud member of NORDSEC – Nordic Defence and Security Cluster, Propulse NTNU will share the story behind Project Fossekall at Forsvarskonferansen - Nordic Defence and Security Conference on 22–23 September at Scandic Hell, Stjørdal.
