For years, “next-generation wireless” was framed as a race. Bigger visions. Faster timelines. Louder promises. We’ve seen how that played out. #5G taught us a hard lesson: technology alone doesn’t deliver outcomes. And ambition without accountability creates debt: strategic, financial, and reputational. What’s different now is not better technology. It’s a change in how seriously this is being taken. In 2025 and beyond, connectivity is no longer discussed only as innovation, but as 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆, and 𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲. Not as hype, but as something that must not fail again. That shift is visible in policy, in government priorities, and in how “winning the 6G race” is being framed, not as a marketing slogan, but as a question of leadership, resilience, and control. But here’s the uncomfortable truth: If we repeat the same patterns as with 5G, different acronyms won’t save us. What organizations are asking today is fundamentally different: -> What do we actually need to understand? -> What decisions are safe to make — and which are not? -> How do we prepare without betting blindly on another promise? That mindset is what shaped the ecosystem I’ve been building over the last few years: • 6G Academy: capability building and shared decision frameworks • 6GWorld: tracking who is shaping the future of connectivity • 6GWorld Pro: structured intelligence, not PR  • #6GSymposium: grounded, strategic dialogue, back in DC • Virtual Summits: focused conversations across AI-native networks, spectrum innovation, edge intelligence, quantum sensing, programmable networks, and autonomous systems This is not about declaring the next big thing. This is about not getting it wrong this time. Skepticism is not a weakness. It’s the only rational response after an era of overpromises. The goal isn’t to move faster.
