Scaling up: Two more BESS projects move into construction! 🔋🏗️ We've signed EPC contracts for two of our utility-scale battery energy storage projects in Poland, marking a major step up in scale for our development pipeline. R.Power Renewables has appointe ONDE to deliver Dzięgielewo (300MW/1,200MWh), and ESIX Sp. z o.o. to deliver Gdańsk (250MW/1,000MWh). Together, they will be our largest and longest duration BESS projects to enter construction, roughly double the capacity and duration of Jedwabno and Scorniçesti, which entered build earlier this year. Both projects are on track and will be operational by the end of 2027, and take R.Power's BESS portfolio under construction across CEE to above 800MW / 2,750MWh. “Dzięgielewo and Gdańsk mark another important step in the execution of our battery storage strategy, building on the project finance and commercialization success we've already achieved for Jedwabno and Scorniçesti. Fresh from closing project financing for our Jedwabno BESS and Scornicesti BESS, R.Power Chief Investment Officer Michal Swol joined Peter Kneller on the NPM Europe (New Project Media) podcast.🎙️ Michal shares his views on the different approaches to financing BESS projects in Europe, the blend of techniques R.Power brings to its transactions, and R.Power's growing pan-European pipeline of projects. R.Power Renewables and ENGIE have completed Poland's largest single utility-scale BESS transaction to date. 🔋🇵🇱 ENGIE has acquired Tursko Wielkie, R.Power's 250 MW / 1 GWh ready-to-build BESS in southeastern Poland. With one of the largest grid-secured utility-scale BESS pipelines in Europe, we are pleased to be handing this project over to ENGIE, an experienced partner with a long-term commitment to the energy transition. Thanks to the groundwork laid by R.Power during the development phase the project is now well positioned to move directly into the construction preparation phase. What a month for R.Power Renewables project finance team! Following our recent announcements for BESS projects in Poland and Romania, we are delighted to announce another CEE financing agreement – a EUR 42 million facility for a PV portfolio in Romania totalling 75 MWp. 🇷🇴 The facility has been structured as a club deal, split equally between ING Romania and UniCredit Bank Romania - two of Europe's leading project finance lenders - reflecting strong institutional appetite for well-structured renewables transactions in Central and Eastern Europe. “This transaction is a good example of how our CEE solar portfolio is maturing”, said our Chief Investment Officer Michal Swol. “We have built a substantial pipeline of well-located, grid-secured assets across the region, and we are now seeing that pipeline translate into financed, operational capacity”. #RPower #ProjectFinance #RenewableEnergy #Romania

We are pleased to announce another successful green bonds issuance, with a total value of 100 million PLN.   With this latest series, R.Power now has a total of ~838 million PLN in green bonds currently outstanding under the 1 billion PLN Green Bond Programme.   The proceeds will bolster further development of R.Power renewable and BESS projects. It's been a momentous week for R.Power's CEE BESS pipeline! 🔋🤝 Hot on the heels of our debt financing agreement for Jedwabno BESS in Poland, R.Power Renewables has secured a €57 million financing package from the @European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), PKO Bank Polski (PKO BP) and Polish development bank, Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego (BGK) for Scorniçesti BESS, our flagship 127 MW / 254 MWh project in Romania. The project, which is co-owned by R.Power and Eiffel Investment Group, has now entered construction, and will be one of the largest utility-scale BESS assets in Romania when it enters commercial operation in late 2026 or early 2027. The loan agreement will see EBRD provide €44 million in investment and bridge financing for the project, alongside 56 million lei (€10.7 million) in VAT financing from PKO BP, and a €2.3 million bank guarantee issued by BGK to secure the long-term optimisation contract recently confirmed for Scorniçesti with regional trading partner GEN-I, d.o.o. “As in other markets in Europe, BESS projects in Romania are needed to align growing power supply from renewables with electricity demand from commercial and residential clients," said our Chief Investment Officer Michal Swol. We’re delighted to share that R.Power has secured financing for our flagship 150 MW / 300 MWh utility-scale BESS in Jedwabno, Poland. The landmark PLN 270 million (€64 million) deal with Siemens Financial Services and Erste Group supports one of the largest energy storage projects in Poland, due to be completed by the end of 2026. It is the largest project finance agreement signed for utility-scale BESS in the country to date. Underpinned by a 17-year capacity market contract and a long-term optimisation agreement with Axpo Polska, this sets a new benchmark for energy storage financing in Central & Eastern Europe. “Jedwabno is a crucial step – for R.Power and for the Polish energy storage market.” said our Chief Investment Officer Michal Swol. “Securing project finance at this scale, underpinned by long-term revenue contracts, shows that large-scale BESS is now fully bankable in CEE”. 🇵🇱 🔋

R.Power Renewables Chief Investment Officer Michal Swol recently spoke to PV Tech, Inc, about Germany's leadership in European renewable energy auctions and hybrid solar-plus-storage tenders. 🇩🇪 Once again, R.Power's experience as a pan-European IPP came to the forefront. Michał shared his views on the role auctions continue to play in driving European PV and BESS growth. "I believe that for Germany, and for our markets in Europe, there should be more and more solutions like in Poland with the capacity market or in Italy with the MACSE scheme" He also highlighted that such mechanisms are very useful in terms of finding business case for making investment decisions and project finance.
