One of the announcements in Almedalen this week was the collaboration between Telia, KTH Royal Institute of Technology and Brookfield around AI infrastructure and investment in Sweden. The announcement itself is significant, but it also highlights a much bigger discussion. As AI moves from experimentation to large-scale implementation, competitiveness increasingly becomes an infrastructure question. Computing power, data centres, connectivity, energy and grid capacity are all becoming strategic assets. The countries that can build and scale these foundations will likely have a very different starting position in the next phase of the AI economy. It was also interesting to see how this discussion connected with several other conversations taking place during the week around electrification, energy resilience and Europe's competitiveness. Increasingly, these topics are converging. We've unpacked some of these reflections in our latest article on GTW Studio, alongside several other articles inspired by the sessions we attended in Almedalen. And this is exactly why these topics will continue to be discussed at Gothenburg Tech Week, 12–16 October. Understanding AI is one thing. We teamed up with Gothenburg Tech Week at Almedalen this year, and the first pieces are now up.
