  • Behind every EDP asset, there are people whose expertise keeps the energy transition moving forward every day. They are at the heart of everything we do. That's the inspiration behind The Heart of Our Energy, EDP's new global video series celebrating the people behind our Renewable Generation Assets and the role they play in delivering operational excellence, driving innovation and creating lasting value for the communities where we operate. Our journey starts in Indiana, US, where we spend a day on site with Jay, Plant Lead Technician at Carpenter Wind. Through his daily routine, we discover how renewable energy and local farming work side by side, creating long-term value for surrounding communities. 🎬 Watch the first episode below. #EDPWeChooseEarth #TheHeartOfOurEnergy

In the last 50 years, EDP has been at the forefront of the energy sector, driven by a purpose to create positive impact for people and the planet, putting communities at the heart of the energy transition wherever we operate. This year, we set a goal of dedicating 50,000 hours of our time to supporting communities through the Time to Give Back initiative, with over 200 social and environmental impact actions across 16 countries. We not only reached our goal, but surpassed it, having dedicated more than 63,000 hours by June 30, the day of our 50th anniversary. This initiative was a tremendous success, not only because of the thousands of employees and partners who contributed their time and skills all around the world, but mainly because of the impact created through the projects and causes we supported. Giving back is not a side project. It is one of the most visible expressions of how we understand our role in the world. As we imagine the next 50 years, one thing remains certain: our commitment to create lasting social and environmental impact. #EDPWeChooseEarth #EDP50Years #GiveBack

  • How do we accelerate the energy transition in highly dense urban markets? The answer lies in maximising the utility of our existing built environments. EDP APAC has successfully commissioned a 3.3 MWp solar photovoltaic (PV) system integrated with an all-weather sports complex at Tzu Ming High School in Taichung, Taiwan. The facility stands as Taiwan’s largest single-site solar PV installation built for an all-weather sports complex, serving as a prime example of our "dual-use" infrastructure strategy in action in the market. By utilising the rooftop of the sports complex, this project bypasses traditional regulatory and spatial bottlenecks without competing for agricultural or commercial land. The facility will generate over 4.63 million kWh of clean electricity annually while serving as an all-weather recreational and environmental education hub for students and the local community. This project directly enhances regional energy security and grid resilience by delivering clean electricity exactly where it is consumed. With this milestone, we continue to scale decentralised generation and Corporate Power Purchase Agreements to deliver secure, long-term value across Taiwan and the region. • The energy transition is evolving at an unprecedented pace. Moving beyond capacity deployment, the global focus has decisively shifted toward grid resilience, managing surging demand, and securing strategic autonomy. Our APAC CEO, Miguel Fonseca, recently took the main stage at the #ReutersGlobalEnergyForum 2026 in New York to share EDP APAC's vision for navigating this shift. Speaking to over 3,000 key international stakeholders, he outlined how these forces are redefining the APAC region into a new "Electrostate" landscape. Recent geopolitical shifts have starkly demonstrated APAC’s exposure to energy imports, making energy security and the energy transition fully aligned. Miguel highlighted that renewables remain the most resilient and cost-effective path forward because, in today's context, electrification and robust grids are no longer just climate solutions but fundamental pillars of national economic competitiveness and strategic independence. This push for independence is accelerating alongside the 24/7 clean energy challenge brought on by the technology sector. With data centers and AI projected to drive a rise in power demand across the region, we see a crucial opportunity to modernize our energy systems. By partnering with hyperscalers and advocating for shared, co-located infrastructure, the industry can leverage this demand to accelerate the deployment of firmed renewables and push toward a fully carbon-free future. To meet these dual imperatives of security and demand, EDP is strategically directing its capital to markets such as Australia, Japan, Singapore and Taiwan, where regulatory frameworks are predictable and projects can scale. The future of Asia's energy landscape is no longer a question of if, but who builds it. At EDP, we are committed to delivering the resilient infrastructure required to secure APAC’s economic frontier. #EDPWeChooseEarth

  • Asia’s energy transition doesn’t lack ambition, nor does it lack capital. What it requires is bankability and clear routes for project delivery. Our CFO Lawrence, Jiemin Wu took the stage at the Asia Infrastructure Forum 2026 to address this topic. Co-organized by Infrastructure Asia, the Ministry of Finance (Singapore), Enterprise Singapore, and the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), the forum provided a platform to dissect how we can move early-stage renewable projects to final investment. Lawrence shared his perspectives on what international capital demands in today’s evolving market: 🔹 A project’s success relies heavily on substantial commercial structuring. Securing long-term offtake certainty, clear revenue visibility, and proactively mitigating curtailment risks are key for international lenders. 🔹 Transmission bottlenecks and grid unpredictability remain significant hurdles across developing markets. To enable effective private-sector participation, the industry must adapt – which is why co-located storage solutions are rapidly transitioning from an optional add-on to a baseline requirement. 🔹 Capital flows to where risk is managed best. Attracting tier-one developers and investors requires mature policy and regulatory conditions that fairly distribute risk between public utilities and private operators. Deploying renewables at scale requires more than just capital. It requires commercial discipline, strategic risk allocation, and strong public-private partnerships. Thank you to the organisors for convening this important dialogue. When we get the commercial frameworks right, the capital will follow. 🌍💼 #EDPWeChooseEarth #AsiaInfrastructureForum #AIF2026

  • Flatland Energy Storage, the largest battery energy storage system in the EDP Group, has been completed. Developed by EDP Renewables North America and Salt River Project (SRP), the 200 MW / 800 MWh project has the capacity to power the equivalent of approximately 44,500 homes in Arizona, helping support periods of peak demand and strengthen grid reliability as energy needs continue to grow. Beyond its contribution to the energy system, Flatland Energy Storage is also expected to generate more than $20 million in local and regional economic impact over its lifetime, including support for public services and infrastructure. As electricity demand continues to grow, storage solutions are playing an increasingly important role in providing the flexibility and reliability needed to support the energy transition. Flatland Energy Storage reflects EDP's commitment to scaling energy storage, supported by a growing portfolio of more than 460 MW in operation and under construction across the United States, Europe, South America and Asia-Pacific. 🔗Read more here: https://lnkd.in/egSazrGp #EDPWeChooseEarth #EnergyTransition
