Save cruise line IT costs and limit brand agility and commercial freedom? Or empower the organisation while running higher OpEx? In his latest blog, Santhosh Jose explores two strategies cruise line CIOs can use to reduce OpEx. He also introduces an alternative approach to streamlining IT operations while maintaining brand-specific commercial control. Read more: https://bit.ly/4x5xRKQ

  • Thirty years of travel domain knowledge is encoded into every agent we build. Each one is built with an understanding of airline retailing, cargo handling, operations, loyalty, hospitality, and cruise line management, natively embedded in its logic. The stakes of the decisions being supported are part of the architecture from day one. A generic AI agent operating on mission-critical travel workflows carries real risk. One built from the ground up with deep domain expertise is a different proposition entirely, and it is where the value compounds over time. Learn more: https://bit.ly/4wU9pvR

    • The image features a promotional graphic from IBS Software. It highlights specialized, mission-critical agents with a four-layer product architecture. The layers include: 1) Context (Sense), 2) Intelligence (Understand), 3) Decision (Decide), and 4) Action (Act). Various sectors are listed: Retail, Cargo, Airline Operations, Loyalty, Hospitality, Tour & Cruise, and Logistics & Exploration. Governance is noted as embedded across all layers.

Warner Hotels needed more than a new reservation system, they needed a partner who understood their unique business, could simplify operations, and open up their next stage of growth. Harish Rajani, CTO, and Daniel Levere, CFO, explain why iStay CRS came out head and shoulders above the mainstream alternatives and what’s changed since go-live: - The strongest trading period in Warner Hotels' history, just two weeks after go-live - A faster, more intuitive experience for call centre teams and guests alike - The commercial flexibility to launch new initiatives and expand what they offer guests online Thank you to Harish and Daniel for this conversation, and to the Warner Hotels team for the partnership.

  • The travel industry has no shortage of AI announcements. The harder questions get less airtime. What happens when an agent gets it wrong? Who carries accountability for an automated decision in a mission-critical operation? How do you adopt AI at scale while keeping control of the processes that define your business? Our Chief Product Officer, Abha Dogra, addresses this directly: "The final decision-making will always stay in the hands of our end users." In this conversation, she explains what that means in practice, why governance is the condition for AI adoption, and how we are re-engineering our products from the ground up to deliver it. • What's the right rate? For years, that question has driven air cargo revenue management. But customers today are buying outcomes: a certainty that their shipment moves as planned, visibility into their options, and services that match their business priorities. Many will pay a premium for it. That's why dynamic offers are air cargo's next frontier, combining price, capacity, service commitments and operational confidence into one intelligent commercial decision. Jackbert Vincent explores how revenue management is evolving from a pricing function into a decision-support engine, with AI as the copilot and connected data as the foundation. The industry spent a decade digitizing pricing. The next phase is digitizing the decisions that drive value. Read more: https://bit.ly/4f5hUyk

  • Lufthansa Cargo has collaborated with WiseTech Global and IBS Software to implement IATA's new ONE Record unified data standard for cargo transport, successfully exchanging shipment records in a production environment. It's one of the first large scale, multi-stakeholder implementations of the standard. The key advantage is that freight data can be checked and processed within a company's own systems before transport even begins, with greater transparency across the chain down to individual shipments. Congratulations to everyone across all three teams who made this happen. Details: https://bit.ly/44xp9J8 International Air Transport Association (IATA)

  • "The question is no longer how to monetize a four-hour flight, but how to convert it into a four-day experience." In an article published on Forbes Technology Council, our CEO, Somit Goyal, asks why a $1.05 trillion industry runs on a 2% net margin, and argues the shortfall has less to do with operations than with who owns the customer's journey. Ancillary revenue has grown from 9.1% to 15.7% of airline revenue in a decade, yet most of the spend around a trip still goes elsewhere. Somit's case: margin returns when airlines stop selling seats and start owning journeys, through real-time offers, unified order records and a commercial P&L built around the customer.
