Building Stronger Regional Partnerships for a Sustainable Timber Industry The Singapore Timber Association (STA) was honoured to host a two-day courtesy visit by the Malaysian Wood Industries Association (MWIA) on 2–3 July 2026. The programme combined strategic dialogue with industry visits, including the Industry Dialogue Session, NTU’s Gaia Building, Calvary Carpentry (One Wood), Kenwood TimMac, YZ Timber Trading Pte Ltd, and a networking dinner at Pen & Inc. These exchanges reinforce the importance of regional collaboration, innovation, and knowledge sharing in advancing sustainable timber solutions and strengthening the industry’s future. STA thanks MWIA, our hosts, and all participating members for contributing to the success of this meaningful engagement. We look forward to continued partnerships that create lasting value for the timber community. Nanyang Technological University Singapore Calvary Carpentry

STA Chinese New Year Dinner 2026 26 February 2026 | Novotel Singapore on Stevens* The Singapore Timber Association (STA) Chinese New Year Dinner 2026 was successfully held on 26 February 2026 at Novotel Singapore on Stevens, bringing together members, partners and distinguished guests for an evening of celebration, appreciation and key industry milestones. We were deeply honoured by the presence of our Guest-of-Honour, Mr Gan Kim Yong, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Industry, and Advisor to STA. We were also privileged to welcome our Special Guest, Mr Jeffrey Siow, Acting Minister for Transport and Senior Minister of State for Finance. The evening commenced on a high note as a vibrant lion troupe ushered DPM into the ballroom — an auspicious and energetic start symbolising prosperity, unity and renewed momentum for the year ahead. Key Highlights of the Evening 1) Witnessing of STA–NYP MOU Signing DPM witnessed the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between STA and Nanyang Polytechnic. This collaboration marks a significant step in strengthening industry–education partnerships, promoting sustainable timber design, enhancing applied learning opportunities, and nurturing future-ready talent for the built environment sector. 2) STA School Design Competition Prizes Presentation DPM presented prizes to the Top 3 winners and 6 Merit recipients of the STA School Design Competition, recognising students’ innovation in upcycling industrial wood waste and designing meaningful solutions for seniors. Their creativity and sustainability-driven thinking reflect the progressive direction of our timber industry. Not forgetting our dedicated panel of judges — without their professional evaluation, industry expertise and rigorous assessment process, the competition would not have been possible. Tokens of appreciation were presented to our judges by Acting Minister, in recognition of their invaluable contribution in adjudicating the entries. 3) Chinese New Year Toast A celebratory Lo Hei and Chinese New Year toast was shared among invited guests, partners, sponsors and STA members — reaffirming unity, resilience and shared aspirations for a prosperous and progressive year ahead. 4) Lucky Draw Presentation The evening concluded on a lively note with the lucky draw presentation by Acting Minister, delighting the audience as members and guests celebrated together in high spirits. The STA CNY Dinner 2026 was not merely a festive gathering — it was a testament to strong government support, meaningful industry collaboration and STA’s continued commitment to sustainability, youth development and industry transformation. With heartfelt gratitude to our Guest-of-Honour, Special Guest, sponsors, partners and members, we look forward to advancing the timber industry together in the year ahead. Huat ah — to a prosperous and progressive year for all!
