“The future is ours to shape.” A powerful reminder from President Tharman Shanmugaratnam at the SG Youth Forum, where the National Youth Council Singapore SG Youth Plan 2026–2030 was officially launched! Shaped by the voices of more than 60,000 young people, the plan is anchored around three pillars: Confident, Connected, Contribute. During the panel discussion (well moderated by Rishi Budhrani, alongside Hanyan Goh, Dakshita Sardana), one point shared by Rusydi Khairul stayed with me: We are more digitally connected than ever, yet more people are feeling lonely. As a youth working in the midlife space, I often hear midlifers and seniors speak about loneliness, changing relationships and the difficulty of finding a community where they feel understood. But this is not only a midlife or ageing issue, because youths experience it too. Well, loneliness does not discriminate by age. Having hundreds of online connections does not always mean having someone we can speak openly with, while being constantly updated on others’ lives does not necessarily make us feel seen in our own. Perhaps being truly connected is not simply about reaching more people. It is about building relationships where people feel safe, valued and supported across backgrounds and generations. This is why the SG Youth Plan matters! 🙌 Beyond creating opportunities for mentorships, overseas exposure, volunteering and youth-led projects, it can create spaces for youths to find belonging and purpose. As we encourage the younger generation to shape the future, let us also build a future where no one has to navigate uncertainty alone. 🗯️ A more connected Singapore begins when we choose to look beyond our screens and towards one another. #SGYouthPlan #SGYouthForum #NationalYouthCouncil #IntergenerationalConnection #Singapore 📸 great seeing so many familiar faces and to many whom I forgot to take pics with (Ong Kah Kuang, Vincent Loh & others...)

If you had told me 4 years ago that I'd be invited to share about the importance of intergenerational dialogue for peri/menopause with press media and KOLs, I'd be like ?????? That said... there is something truly powerful about seeing midlife wellness move from niche conversations into everyday retail spaces! I (+ Elmer Jun Wei Y.) were super excited to represent Surety - Midlife & Menopause Management at Guardian Singapore's launch of GenM Official and its MTick products; an initiative designed to help consumers identify products that may support them through #menopause and #midlife. As a founder in my 20s (can't use this for long 😂) working in this space, I have often been asked why I speak about (peri)menopause so early in life. My answer remains the same: WHY NOT? I don't believe we need to be in midlife to talk about midlife. Retailers have an important role to play. They are often one of the first places people turn to when looking for support, information, or practical solutions. By making midlife needs more visible, initiatives like this can help reduce confusion, encourage earlier conversations, and make women feel less alone. 🩵 During the KOL and Media Preview, we had the opportunity to share our perspectives with members of the media and wider community. 🩵 I was also glad to join the public stage alongside Dr Dypti Lulla, Grace Chew from Guardian’s pharmacy team, and our community member, Vinti Mittal, who brought an important lived-experience perspective to the conversation. This is what meaningful progress can look like: healthcare professionals, retailers, communities, and advocates coming together to make midlife wellness easier to understand and access. The movement is growing, slowly but surely, and I am encouraged by where it is heading! 🥰 Huge shoutout to Olivia Ong and team from Guardian Singapore, for bringing midlife wellness closer to the people who need it. #MidlifeWellness #Menopause #WomensHealth #HealthyAgeing

  • We are pleased share that we collaborated with Guardian Singapore for the launch of GenM Official and its MTick products. The initiative supports greater visibility and accessibility for peri/menopause and midlife wellness by helping consumers identify products that may be relevant to their evolving needs. As part of Guardian’s KOL and Media Preview, our co-founder, Valery Tan and Elmer Jun Wei Y., joined a mini panel to share perspectives on the importance of normalising midlife conversations and building stronger support across communities. We were also part of the public stage discussion alongside Dr Dypti Lulla, Grace from Guardian’s pharmacy team, and our community member, Vinti Mittal. The conversation brought together medical, pharmacy, community, and lived-experience perspectives reflecting the multi-stakeholder approach needed to support people through midlife. We are encouraged to see retailers taking an active role in this space. Midlife wellness should not be difficult to understand, discuss, or access. By bringing these conversations into familiar everyday environments, we can help more individuals feel informed, supported, and seen.

Surety - Midlife & Menopause Management received an extra ❤️ from National Volunteer and Philanthropy Centre (NVPC) ; Company of Good this year!!! We (+ Elmer Jun Wei Y.) are grateful for the recognition, but I also see it as a lagging indicator. By the time work is recognised, much of it has already happened quietly; in early conversations, uncertain partnerships, rejections, failures and repeated efforts that may not have looked significant at the time. Yes, it gets painful at times 😅 This heart does not belong to us. It also belongs to the employers, healthcare professionals, community partners and individuals who chose to take midlife wellness more seriously. Building a company is about growing an organisation. But… building a movement is about growing participation beyond the organisation. For me, progress is not about whether we remain at the centre of every conversation (because tbh, it gets cringey). 🫡 It is about seeing more workplaces, retailers, healthcare providers and communities take ownership of the issue in their own ways (and yes, it is happening!) That is when change becomes more lasting. Thank you to everyone who has helped move this conversation forward. 🫶 Also, a huge congrats on the 10th Anniversary of impactful work at Company of Good, Tony Soh 🙌✨

  • In the age of AI, building is getting easier. Our co-founder, Elmer Jun Wei Y., recently shared a reflection at Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) Venture Builder Info Session by SUSS Entrepreneurship. Products that used to require a 5-person team and 1–2 months to create can now be built in days, or even hours. The barrier to creating an MVP is getting lower. But the barrier to building trust, relevance, and distribution is not. That is where the real work begins. At Surety Singapore, we see this closely in the work we do across midlife, menopause, workplace education, and community building. It is not enough to build a platform, a programme, or a product. The question is: ∵ Can it reach the right people? ∵ Can it make them feel understood? ∵ Can it create enough trust for them to take action, seek support, or start a conversation they have been avoiding? For us, distribution is not just about channels. ∴ It is about relationships. ∴ It is the community member who shares our session with a friend. ∴ The workplace leader who brings menopause education into the workplace. ∴ The clinician who helps us make information more credible. ∴ The partner who believes midlife support should be more accessible in Asia. AI can help us build faster. But trust, community, and cultural relevance still take time. That is the differentiator we are committed to building! #menomatters #asia #singapore #midlifewellness

Midlife support cannot stay siloed. At The Balanced Life, supported by Surety - Midlife & Menopause Management alongside ESSEX, Balance2Bliss, and fellow partners, I was reminded of one thing: 𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧 𝐝𝐨 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐦𝐢𝐝𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐬𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬. ≫ Hormones affect energy. ≫ Energy affects movement. ≫ Movement affects confidence. ≫ Confidence affects how women show up at work, at home, and for themselves. ≫ Financial security affects the choices they feel able to make. Yet too often, support is very fragmented. → A doctor for one issue. → Google for another. → A private worry kept quietly to herself. That is why partnerships like this matters greatly. When medical experts, TCM physicians, wellness coaches, financial advisors, and community builders come together, midlife care becomes more practical, more human, and more complete. 🩵 I was honoured to open the event and share Surety - Midlife & Menopause Management’s intention to be a voice for midlifers in Asia. We want to continue building spaces like this where their questions, fears, and hopes can be heard earlier, and answered better. The future of midlife support is about integration, access, and community. Grateful to be part of a room that reflected that 💛 🔊 If you are a healthcare professional, wellness practitioner, corporate leader, brand, or community builder who believes midlife support should be more accessible in Asia, I would love to connect. Let’s build more rooms like this, together! #menomatters #asia #singapore #midlifewellness #perimenopause #womenshealth #midlife

  • Midlife support should feel easier to access. We are proud to support The Balanced Life: Health, Hormones & Financial Confidence for Midlife Women, organised by ESSEX, alongside Balance2Bliss and fellow partners. Our co-founder, Valery Tan, opened the event by sharing why this work matters to us: helping women feel more informed, supported, and confident through midlife. The morning brought together meaningful conversations across hormonal health, TCM, movement, financial wellness, and community support. For partnerships, workplace programmes, or community collaborations around midlife and menopause, we would love to connect. #menomatters #asia #singapore #midlifewellness #menopause #womenshealth #midlife

Stories... Every woman has her own menopause journey. Different experiences, but one common thread — how it’s perceived. For years, this conversation stayed quiet. Support was limited, awareness even more. That’s why we created The Balanced Life — a space dedicated to women’s holistic wellness. With experts across fields, coming together to inform, support, and empower. Because, as we said before — you are not alone in this.
