Kredete is a global financial platform building infrastructure for cross-border money movement through stablecoin-powered payments and local financial rails.

The company's mission is to make financial services work without borders by giving consumers and businesses a single platform to move, hold, and grow money across global markets. Rather than relying on separate providers for payments, accounts, cards, treasury, and settlement, Kredete brings these capabilities together within one platform.

For consumers, Kredete offers international money transfers, multi-currency accounts, payment cards, stablecoin-powered payments, savings, investing, and credit-building products. For businesses and financial institutions, the platform provides cross-border collections and payouts, payment APIs, card issuing, treasury infrastructure, and embedded financial services.

By combining stablecoin settlement with local payment rails and operating under regulated financial licenses across its key markets, Kredete enables customers to expand internationally without having to rebuild their financial infrastructure for every new country.

The Challenge:

As a platform supporting cross-border payments and stablecoin-powered financial services, identity verification is a core part of Kredete's operations. The company needs to verify customers, reduce fraud, and meet regulatory requirements while serving users across multiple markets.

Before Sumsub, Kredete already used automated identity verification, but the overall compliance process relied on multiple providers. While this worked initially, it became increasingly difficult to maintain a consistent verification and risk management process as the platform expanded.

The team identified several areas for improvement:

  • Verification, risk management, and transaction monitoring were spread across different tools which led to fragmented processes
  • Higher false-positive rates created unnecessary manual reviews and delayed legitimate users
  • Different identity documents, formats, and regulatory requirements made it difficult to maintain a consistent onboarding experience across markets
  • Compliance teams lacked a single view of customer verification, risk, and ongoing monitoring
