  • 【Social Science Meets Tech: NCCU IMAS x WT Group】 Recently, students from the #IMAS program at 國立政治大學 visited the headquarters of WT Group. The field trip was a key part of Dr. Liu’s class, “From Deerskins to Semiconductors.” Stepping out of the classroom, the students saw for themselves how Taiwan’s tech power connects with the real world of global trade. The day started with a deep dive into #AIrobots. Since most students come from social science backgrounds—not engineering—Vincent, the FAE Director at WT Group, kept things fun and easy to understand. He started with R2-D2, the robot from Star Wars! Using a famous character helped the students understand how complex AI robots actually work. It got everyone talking about the future of robotics and how automation is changing our lives. Next, Tim, the VP of Sales at WT Group, introduced the semiconductor industry supply chain. He explained that WT’s corporate culture and industry success are built on four core values: #Integrity, #Commitment, #Teamwork, and #Courage. Moving beyond theory, WT set up interactive AI devices for the students to try out. This allowed everyone to test various functions and understand the different dimensions of AI robotics applications. One of the best parts was the career sharing session with young talent from WT Group, Serana and Jay. They gave the students invaluable insights into job hunting strategies and—most importantly for international students—how to fit into Taiwan’s work culture. This field trip in WT Group broadened the students' horizons and opened new possibilities for their future careers in an increasingly digitized global economy. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Join WT!
