(2014). The RTSM was employed to track responses to three purposely-selected video commercials in a between-subjects design. Results of the study provide empirical support for the central conceptual premise of reversal theory, the experience of metamotivational reversals and the ability of the RTSM to capture them. The RTSM was also found to be psychometrically sound after adjustments were made to two of its three component subscales. Detailed account and rationale is provided for the analytical process of assessing the psychometric robustness of the RTSM, with a number of techniques and interpretations relating to component structure and reliability discussed. Agreeability and critique of the two available versions of the RTSM-the bundled and the branched-is also examined. Researchers are encouraged to assist development of the RTSM through further use, taking into account the analysis and recommendations presented.

In a repeated measures design, the participant sample (n= 140) was presented with an adapted version of Knapp and Karabenick's (1985) questionnaire which asks respondents to rate the degree to which single item coping strategies would most useful for overcoming each of the three designated complaints. Factor analysis of the coping items produce three groups of items as belief components: 'self-reliance', 'seeking help' and 'external control'. The chronic fatigue syndrome appellation invoked significantly higher scores on the self-reliance factor and on external control than did the other two diagnostic labels. However, seeking help was considered to be the most important strategy for overcoming all three of the designated incarnations of the condition. In conclusion, `chronic fatigue syndrome' is the linguistic construction which bestows the most beneficial outlook for assisting individuals to overcome this complaint. Thereby, the use of this descriptor in current medical nomenclatures arguably is well placed.

This growth can be attributed to the unique benefits that mutual funds offer to individual investors. As a result of this widely documented trend, the performance of portfolio managers has become an increasingly important focus among financial analysts. This paper is unique in evaluating Greek mutual fund managers in terms of «market timing» and «selectivity» performance using new methodology. It should be noted that since the official General Index does not include dividends, a new index named Total Performance Index, constructed by us, is employed into the analysis. The empirical results do not reveal any ability of the fund managers to time the market correctly or select undervalued securities, irrespectively of how the returns of the index are calculated (JEL G14).

However, recent studies have demonstrated that MA is multifaceted and can be associated with positive processes and outcomes. Here, everyday understandings of MA were investigated using grounded theory. Ten participants engaged in one-off semistructured interviews about their everyday experiences of MA. Grounded theory analysis revealed four main themes: (a) Moments of MA, (b) Functionality of MA, (c) Coping strategies for MA, and (d) Inability to cope with MA. Each of these themes is composed of two to five subthemes. The results supported the notion that MA is experienced in a multidimensional manner, which appears to align with elements of the Multidimensional Mortality Awareness Measure and Model. Furthermore, positive and/or nega...

We also collected demographic information from each respondent. We found that: (i) an attachment style characterised by a feeling of being uncomfortable with closeness and intimacy independently of other variables predicted self-reported levels of proactive and reactive rebelliousness; (ii) a neglectful parenting style, whether maternal or paternal, was independently predictive of both proactive and reactive rebelliousness; (iii) a maternal parenting style of indifference was also found to be predictive of reactive rebelliousness; (iv) paternal indifference predicted proactive rebelliousness; (v) over-controlling and abusive parenting styles however, were not found to be predictive of either forms of rebelliousness (with the exception of an abusive paternal style fo...
