The urgency stems from a series of crises that humankind is now facing-epidemiological, environmental, social, political, and economic. However, all those crises, as many have already observed, might be better understood as different faces, or different modes, of the same underlying crisis: the Anthropocene crisis, whose ultimate origins lay at our feet, triggered by the way we, humans, inhabit-and impact-this world. It seems consensual that humankind has never faced such a terrible array of combined crises that, for the first time in history, puts our very survival as a species in danger. Para tanto, partimos do conceito de "teofania", presente na obra do pensador, filólogo e estudioso da religião alemão Walter Friedrich Otto (1874-1958), e do universo espiritual e filosófico helênico antigo como plataforma para tal reflexão.

Published by a major brazilian publisher dedicated to the Humanities and Spirituality, Editora Vozes, the book is divided into seven chapters or lessons, which explore Buddhism's three "jewels" or "treasuries: the Buddhathe Master, together with the Dharma, "the teachings", and the community ("The Sangha"). The first lesson, or chapter, is called "The way of the Buddha" where his life and the ancient hindu religious and cultural contexts are described. In chapter number two we introduce the buddhist teachings (Dharma) through the Four Noble Truths (1. suffering; 2. The origins of suffering; 3. The possibility of overcoming suffering and 4. Abstract: this article aims at inquiring into and developing the polyhedral nexus between spirituality, philosophy, poetry and the non-dual experience with nature in some passages of the poetical, philosophical/spiritualistic writings of Henry D. Thoreau. Therefore, we shall highlight some of his poems, utilizing some passages of his spiritualistic and philosophic prose to shed some light on his poetry, since, according to Thoreau, literature, mythology, philosophy and poetry are feasible linguistic modulations-and necessarily incomplete-to describing that archaic and symbiotic non-dual experience with nature.

Such path, I shall argue, aims at a profound experience of integration with wilderness, with Nature, and is fundamentally carved out from Thoreau´s dialogical relationship with the Greek philosophical and mythological tradition. That referred awakening, we shall see, is based upon a set of practices and exercises: attention, study and contemplation.

Introdução: o autor e o texto A finalidade desta tradução é bifronte: por um lado, trata-se de pr... more Introdução: o autor e o texto A finalidade desta tradução é bifronte: por um lado, trata-se de preencher o vácuo acadêmico brasileiro de traduções originais do sânscrito e da própria tradição budista para a língua portuguesa sem o intermédio de outras línguas ocidentais; objetiva-se, assim, a disponibilização para os interessados de um texto integral de um dos mais importantes pensadores da longa história da tradição budista. A segunda faceta dessa empreitada faz parte de um projeto maior, que pretende abordar o budismo a partir de alguns dos elementos do seu enorme manancial de metodologias soteriológicas, dentre as quais o literário e o poético 2 , buscando caracterizar a experiência do despertar (bodhi), seus procedimentos propedêuticos e as suas fundamentações teóricas registradas pela tradição como um evento não somente extático, mas também, ou, sobretudo, estético; vale dizer, estamos interessados aqui em aprofundar a análise dos textos da tradição budista, principalmente a sua poesia, com o auxílio de um novo tipo de mirada hermenêutica que valorize uma abordagem estética: (i) enquanto uma teoria da sensibilidade na sua forma propriamente estrita e (ii) latu senso, no desfrutar estético de uma obra de arte, além de explorar as potencialidades de uma importante modalidade de encaminhamento soteriológico (upāya). 3 O Acintyastava ("elogio, louvação ao/do inconcebível") é um dos quatro hinos de louvor tradicionalmente atribuídos a Nāgārjuna (séc. II da era comum), um dos principais expoentes do pensamento budista. Na realidade, a importância da obra de Nāgārjuna não deve ser circunscrita somente ao ambiente budista, antes, ela representa um dos mais impressionantes e ambiciosos projetos do pensamento humano.
