Agricultural and science educators face similar challenges in selecting, adapting, and delivering curricular content in their courses. The data presented here assesses teachers’ perceptions of online curricular resources and their usage by agriculture and science teachers in K-12 classrooms. The specific research objectives were to 1) determine the teacher’s perceptions and usage of online curriculum resources and 2) determine their methods to locate and select web-based curricular resources. Analysis suggests that the curricular needs and utilization may not be discipline-specific, and that needs identified in other disciplines may have applications in agriculture and science classrooms. Teachers utilized Google, Facebook, and other social media platforms to share and locate resources but expressed the need ...

These crops are known as the "Three Sisters". In this lesson developed for secondary agriscience curriculum, students will understand the past, current and future production practices of the three important crops. Students will also apply their knowledge to understand the crop selection process and relate to the changing environment.

The population for this study was all high school agriculture instructors in Idaho and all instructors in Oregon and Washington, east of the Cascade Mountains. Of the possible 210 instructors, 93 responded for a response rate of 44%. SAE participation in the IPN is currently at 58.8%, over 10% higher than levels reported in national studies. Contract length has no significant correlation to the percent of students enrolled in the SAE program while the importance the instructors place on the program and percent of students in the FFA were both found to be significantly correlated to percent of students with SAE’s. The factors that appear to be most important for the students to conduct quality SAE’s are parental support, interest to the students, importance to the instructor, complete records, flexibility, regular supervision and providing experiences that bolster students self-esteem.
