Business banking how it used to be, just better.
About us
🏆 The UK’s #1 fastest-growing private company (The Sunday Times 100, 2024) 🚀 One of LinkedIn’s Top UK Startups and Deloitte’s fastest-growing UK fintech ever 🌟 Rated ‘Excellent’ on Trustpilot Allica is a bank built especially for established businesses with between 5 and 250 employees. A third of the UK’s economy depends on these businesses, yet they’re overlooked by the big banks with a service that is increasingly impersonal, inconvenient, and poor value. We’re here to change that. Allica Bank is on a mission to give established businesses the banking they deserve. That means: - a current account that rewards business owners for using it. - a relationship manager whose name and number they actually know. - powerful tools and technology that make life easier, not harder. It’s proving to be a winning combination. Allica was named as Britain's fastest-growing private company in 2024’s The Sunday Times 100, and we’re also the fastest-growing fintech in the 26-year history of Deloitte’s UK Technology Fast 50 awards. Since we opened our doors in 2020, Allica has lent over £3 billion to established UK businesses and raised £4 billion in deposits. From our offices in Milton Keynes, London and Manchester, we’re offering business banking how it used to be, just better.

💡 Watch this month's Market Briefing to find out what's shaping established businesses as we head through 2026. Simon Lofts, National Key Account Manager at Allica, shares three things accountants should have on their radar this month 👇 📊 The lending gap A new Oxford Economics study confirms established businesses make up over a third of UK private sector employment and turnover - but a £65 billion lending gap built up over 25 years is still holding many of them back from investing and growing. 🍽️ Hospitality under pressure Rising costs and more cautious customers are squeezing margins, but investment appetite hasn't dropped - 95% of hospitality businesses still plan to invest in customer service this year. Clients in this space need help weighing up ROI before they commit. 📈 Interest rates The Bank of England recently decided to hold the base rate at 3.75%. We break down what the committee's decision means and what to watch for next. ▶️ Watch Simon's briefing for the full picture.

We have just launched a nationwide recruitment campaign for 4️⃣ Regional Leader roles across London, the Midlands, the North and the South 🚀 These are senior leadership roles within our Customer Relationship Management team at Allica Bank. John Harrison and I are looking for people with a track record of outstanding commercial delivery and genuine credibility in their local markets. Just as importantly, let me be clear: these are not roles for textbook bankers. We want people who think differently 💡 People with high agency* and zero patience for procrastination. People who do not sit around waiting for instruction or perfect information before making a move. These roles will suit leaders who thrive in ambiguity, can hold multiple competing priorities at once, make good decisions and keep moving forward. Not those who need to work through everything sequentially before taking action. You will have real freedom to raise the standard of relationship banking for established businesses. And you will be accountable for what you do with it. So, if you want to change the industry rather than simply work in it, take a look at the four roles on the Allica Bank careers page linked below. https://lnkd.in/e9pR_prt * See comments 👇 for the type of high agency leaders we are after! #Hiring #Leadership #BusinessBanking #AllicaBank John Harrison Gareth Anderson Charissa Chang Stephen Spinks Brandon Hall Edward Parsons Anthony Newman

As AI evolves, what does the future of the compliance function look like? Following the launch of 'The Future of AI Governance and Compliance in Financial Services' at the House of Lords, Allica Bank's Chief Compliance Officer, Mitch (Munish) Trehan, sat down with the team at Zango to discuss how AI is reshaping compliance and impacting the way people interact with it as a second line of defence. Here are Mitch’s three key takeaways: 🎙️AI governance will depend on collaboration. With no settled operating model yet, the industry needs to learn together through trade bodies, professional networks and regulators. 🎙️Clearer policies will become more important than ever. As AI begins supporting advisory teams by retrieving information from regulations and internal policies, the quality and precision of that documentation will become increasingly valuable. 🎙️Assurance is set to evolve. AI can reduce the time spent on sample testing, allowing teams to review much larger datasets – or even entire populations – giving greater confidence in the results. Allica Bank has been named on the six-brand shortlist for 'Brand of the Year' at the 2026 Marketing Week Awards 🤩 And we’re in some brilliant company: adidas, Currys plc, Nationwide Building Society, Tony's Chocolonely and Waitrose & Partners. It’s been a big 18 months for the Allica brand. We kicked things off with a full rebrand, putting our orange bowler hat right at the heart of our visual identity. Then this spring, we launched our first flagship TV campaign around our ‘I-like-a-bank’ concept. But this recognition is about more than a new look or a campaign. It reflects the work across the company going into making Allica better known as the bank built especially for established businesses. This year alone, Allica has: - Achieved a $1.2 billion valuation following our latest funding round in February - Been named the UK's most-recommended business bank by RFI Global, based on feedback from more than 4,000 businesses - Posted record annual results, with business current account customers up 133% year-on-year to over 14,000 established businesses, and total lending rising 23% to £3.7 billion We're chuffed to be recognised alongside such powerful brands as we continue to offer a GREAT way to bank for our established business customers. Fingers crossed for the awards ceremony in November 🤞

Turns out... it's harder than it looks 🟢🏆 What a fantastic day at the 53rd World Peashooting Championship this weekend in Cambridgeshire. A huge congratulations to all this year's champions, and to everyone who took part. From seasoned competitors to first-time peashooters, it was brilliant to see so many people coming together to celebrate one of Britain's most unique traditions. We were proud to support an event that perfectly captures what our 'Here is Where the Heart Is' campaign is all about – communities coming together, volunteers giving their time, and local traditions continuing to thrive. It's events like these that make our communities special, just like the established businesses that we work with. A big thank you to the Witcham Events Committee, the volunteers and everyone who helped make the day such a success, and congratulations once again to all the winners🫛 #HereIsWhereTheHeartIs #worldpeashootingchampionship #community #cambridgeshire #witcham Credit to Jane Herbert for the photograph.

Accountants work hard to deliver a high standard of service to their clients. Their business bank should do the same. This month we’re spotlighting Gravitate Accounting, a digital accountancy practice based in Sheffield. Gravitate combine smart tech with strong human relationships, putting people at the heart of how they work with clients for over seven years. As Sam Newton FCCA, cofounder of Gravitate, puts it: “We want to create a positive impact from every encounter, educate the people we meet to empower better decisions, and build a digital firm powered by people.” Many of their established business clients come to them frustrated by slow bank account setups, unclear processes and a lack of support once things are up and running. It’s why a relationship-led approach makes such a difference, and why having a banking partner like Gravitate's partnerships manager Simon Lofts really counts. Sam adds: “Allica made a really strong impression with how they are willing to jump right in with client meetings, sometimes outside of typical office hours, to help solve problems and discuss opportunities.” That's the partnership we aim to offer every accountant we work with - dedicated relationship managers combined with easy-to-use tech, so their clients get a smoother experience from day one. We’re pleased to work alongside Gravitate, and are looking forward supporting more of their clients with confidence and clarity.

Big news for established businesses across Britain 📣 Ahead of her Mansion House speech on Tuesday, the Chancellor Rt Hon Rachel Reeves has confirmed she will announce a significant expansion of the Growth Guarantee Scheme (GGS) to support an additional 12,000 SMEs each year. Allica has been calling for this for a long time and it is fantastic to see the Government listen and act 👏 Established businesses – those firms with between 5 and 250 employees – are the real engine of the UK economy. They account for more than a third of private sector employment and turnover, yet they are consistently overlooked in policy conversations that focus on startups at one end and large corporates at the other. That has to change and this announcement from the Chancellor is a genuine step in the right direction, helping to support established SMEs with getting the finance they need to invest, grow and create jobs in every corner of the country. Allica's CEO Richard Davies said: "We are delighted the Chancellor has backed Britain's smaller businesses by supporting lenders like Allica to supercharge its growth lending to businesses. "Allica plans to deliver over £8 billion of new established SME lending over the next three years, and the substantial expansion to the GGS and ENABLE schemes will play a vital part in enabling this additional lending. "An expanded GGS will drive economic growth right across Britain, with four in every five jobs supported by Allica's GGS lending located outside London and the South East." We will keep making the case for established businesses. They deserve it.
