We are passionate and committed to nurturing and developing the next generation of scientists and drug discoverers.      This year, we put that commitment into action by welcoming nine incredibly talented industrial placement students from the Universities of Bath and Warwick into our research teams.      Over the last 12 months, they have:   ✔️ Contributed directly to cutting-edge research projects.   ✔️ Brought unmatched positive energy and teamwork to our labs.   ✔️ Demonstrated what true collaboration and scientific curiosity look like.     As they return to university to complete their degrees, the entire team at Bicycle wants to express our deepest gratitude. We were thrilled to attend the 'Radionuclide Theranostics for the Management of Cancer' Gordon Research Conference last week. Matthew Bell and Siva Genapathy presented two insightful posters on how our Bicycle® Radioconjugates (BRC®) effectively visualize MT1-MMP and EphA2 expressing tumors, with initial first-in-human imaging demonstrating rapid, high-contrast visualization across various cancer indications.    These presentations underscored the Bicycle® platform's flexibility in delivering high-affinity, selective peptide binders for both diagnostic and potential therapeutic applications in precision oncology. Preclinical data highlighted high tumor uptake and rapid background clearance for BRCs. Notably, first-in-human imaging with ⁶⁸Ga-MT1-MMP BRC® visualized primary breast and bladder cancers, alongside metastases, while ⁶⁸Ga-EphA2 BRC® imaging clearly showed pancreatic tumor mass and its metastases in patients.    #Radiopharmaceuticals #PrecisionOncology #CancerResearch #Theranostics #GordonResearchConference 

A team of 15 team members tackled the 15km (21 obstacle!) Tough Mudder course at Belvoir Castle. We're incredibly proud that all 15 crossed the finish line together, showcasing remarkable teamwork and camaraderie through challenging obstacles! We were honored to host Science, Innovation and Technology Secretary of State Liz Kendall, showcasing our pioneering oncology and radiopharmaceutical innovations.     During her visit, we provided an update on our ambition of transform legacy nuclear material into targeted alpha therapies (Bicycle® Radioconjugates, or BRCs®) through a landmark partnership with the UK Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) and United Kingdom National Nuclear Laboratory (UKNNL). This initiative leverages our Bicycle® platform to develop next-generation oncology treatments, contributing to the UK's leadership in precision medicine and advanced radiopharmaceuticals. We held another successful UK Science Fair, an annual event hosted by our Research & Innovation Team to showcase the research being conducted at Bicycle Therapeutics. We had 20 posters that highlighted our new and differentiated class of Bicycle® molecules, and we would like to congratulate this year’s winners: Freya Meakin, Harry King, Katherine McPhie, Hector Newman, Ben Blakeman, Findlay MacGillivray-Edwards, Nicolas Guthertz, Tom Foster! Special shoutout to the organizing committee, led by Monika Maciuszek and Peter Brown.

Check out our new publication: "The Journey of Targeted Drug Conjugates in Solid Tumors: Moving Beyond Antibody Drug Conjugates". This important paper, published in Expert Opinion on Investigational Drugs, showcases the transformative potential of novel targeted therapies beyond antibody drug conjugates (ADCs), and highlights the safety and efficacy limitations of current ADCs.   Our Bicycle® Drug Conjugate molecules, including nuzefatide pevedotin (EphA2) and zelenectide pevedotin (Nectin-4), are at the forefront, offering promising efficacy with a differentiated safety profile. We believe these innovations could offer improved benefit/risk profiles compared to existing modalities and help patients not only live longer but also live well. Excited to share a new publication, submitted by the Universitätsklinikum Freiburg: “First-in-human EphA2-targeting PET imaging with the bicyclic radiotracer [68Ga]Ga-BCY18469 in pancreatic cancer patients: Biodistribution, dosimetry and initial findings”. This paper in European Journal of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging highlights clinical experiences with Bicycle Imaging Agents and their potential as a diagnostic tool for EphA2-positive malignancies. Last night, our own Jennifer Perry, PharmD participated in a panel of esteemed clinical and industry experts at the Women Leaders in Oncology and Allies Event!   Hosted in collaboration with Conquer Cancer, the ASCO Foundation, the evening celebrated the women advancing oncology research, clinical care, and drug development. We're proud of JP and grateful for her work helping elevate women across our field.
