Every rug tells a story. In this case, it is a story of education, opportunity and long‑term impact. Through our partnership with Totzke Limited Rugs, Canvas has contributed to Project Mala, an initiative that provides schooling for children in the carpet‑weaving communities of India. The organisation focuses on abolishing child labour by replacing it with structured schooling, healthcare and nutritional support in these regions where access to education is limited and where the cycle of poverty often begins. This year, we purchased 18 handcrafted rugs for our Canvas spaces. Each rug funds one full year of education for one child. That means 18 children in the carpet belt communities will now have access to schooling, meals, uniforms and learning resources. For us, this partnership is about more than design. It is about aligning our spaces with our values. Beautiful interiors can also create meaningful change, and we are proud to support a programme that invests directly in children’s futures.
