𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴...𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗲𝗲 𝗶𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. Our Clarksons Athens team and the ICS Greek Branch have successfully completed the first Clarksons & ICS Greek Branch Shipping Training Week, giving young shipping professionals a practical insight into the world of maritime shipping. From classroom sessions to visits to Angelicoussis Group and an Ultramax dry bulk vessel operated by Niovis Shipping at the TITAN Cement Plant, the week combined structured learning with real industry experience. David O'Sullivan FICS, 𝗗𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗗𝗿𝘆 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗼, 𝗔𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻𝘀 "We are pleased to announce the successful launch of Clarksons’ inaugural training programme in Athens, in partnership with our friends at the ICS Greek Branch. It was great to be part of this initiative, where we were able to share real insights into the shipping industry, and it has been incredibly rewarding to see the students participate. The ICS provides an excellent range of tools and courses for shipping professionals at every stage of their careers, and I am proud that Clarksons has been able to contribute to this learning journey" We look forward to building on the success of this year's programme and continuing to support students as they gain valuable knowledge, practical experience and a deeper understanding of the shipping industry.

  • At a time when geopolitics are shifting and there’s a growing push to scale offshore energy, events like Global Offshore Wind play a key role in bringing the industry together. This year's event in Manchester certainly didn’t disappoint. There was great energy throughout, along with a genuine sense of momentum across the sector. What stood out most was just how engaged everyone was, with a clear focus on practical collaboration and delivering real, workable solutions for the industry. The conversations were flowing, providing a great platform to strengthen our relationships—and it felt like the event ended too soon. It was a fantastic opportunity to catch up with our clients and build new relationships. Until next year! To speak to a member of the team reach out at: https://ow.ly/OXWx50ZgKpZ

Earlier this month, Hamish Watson, Head of Renewable Derivatives at Clarksons, hosted a fireside chat at the Energy Trading Leaders Summit 2026, a brilliant event with strong engagement and insight from across the energy market. Hamish was joined by Kenny Liu Man Hin, Biogas Desk at TotalEnergies, to discuss the evolution of the biomethane market. Topics included how energy companies can assist their customers to decarbonise, new European compliance driving demand and investment in new plants and the impact of biomethane and bioLNG on decarbonising the maritime and transport sectors. It’s clear how far the space has come, with increasing liquidity, new counterparties entering the market, and volumes ramping up as more plants come online to address the every increasing European demand. The fireside chat highlighted key drivers behind this growth, including decarbonisation and the growing importance of international energy security where biomethane can help ensure supply. For more information on how renewable energy can support your strategy, please get in touch: Hamish Watson hamish.watson@clarksons.com +44 7522991371 #Clarksons #Biomethane #EnergyTransition

Josh Toney, Metals Broker, Clarksons New York, recently joined the panel at the Fast Markets Iron Ore Decoded 2026 event, discussing “The benchmark transition and its implications from different voices”. The panel explored a critical question for the market: 'Is the 61% Fe index still fit for purpose?', highlighting the commercial, contractual and structural implications of any benchmark shift across APAC. Freight and derivative contracts were key themes in discussions around additional trade lanes and the development of new supply chains, including material originating from Brazil and Africa.
