We're proud to be part of the journey! #AWholeNewWay
Welcome to the Cambridge Children's Hospital project! Cambridge Children's Hospital will be the first specialist children's hospital for the East of England. It will be unique in fully integrating mental and physical healthcare under one roof, alongside world-leading research focused solely on improving outcomes for children and young people. Our holistic approach will treat mind and body as one, supporting not just the child who is unwell but their whole family. Our region's new hospital is being built with a triumvirate partnership: Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust (CPFT), and the University of Cambridge. However, there are many other experts involved, including children, young people, parents and carers; NHS staff from our partner organisations and across the East of England; and our colleagues at Pilgrim Pathways School. The hospital's visionary approach to care and research is being supported by a transformational £100 million fundraising campaign, which has already surpassed the halfway mark. We will aim to treat children within their own communities wherever possible, keeping them close to the places and people they love. When they come into Cambridge Children's Hospital, they will have state-of-the-art facilities, as well as a hospital school, multiple outdoor spaces, en suite bedrooms with lots of natural light, and theatres, diagnostics and imaging facilities exclusively for our young patients. In Summer 2024, our Outline Business Case was approved by Government. The following year, we appointed our construction partner BOUYGUES UK. With our design now finalised and our Full Business Case being prepared for submission, we are starting the countdown to construction in 2027. We are delighted to bring you on board for this exciting journey towards making Cambridge Children's Hospital a reality for children and families in the East of England.
