We're delighted to welcome Lynsey O'connor to DD Group as our new Business Consultant! 🎉 As our team continues to grow, we're excited to welcome another experienced professional to the team. With more than 20 years' experience in dentistry, Lynsey brings a wealth of knowledge gained across a variety of roles, including Dental Nurse, Dental Radiographer, Sedation Nurse, Treatment Coordinator and Practice Manager. Having worked across NHS, mixed and private practices, she has developed a strong understanding of the challenges faced by clinicians and practice teams alike, along with a real passion for helping practices grow and thrive. 🤝 Building strong relationships and supporting customers are at the heart of everything Lynsey does, making her a fantastic addition to the DD Group team. 🏡 Outside of work, Lynsey is a proud mum to two boys and enjoys spending quality time with her family, including their two dogs, who keep everyone active and outdoors. We're proud to support Dentaid The Dental Charity 🦷 For over 30 years, Dentaid The Dental Charity has provided dental care and oral health advice for people experiencing homelessness, harm, poverty and abuse; both here in the UK and overseas. 🇬🇧 In the UK, their mobile dental units travel the country visiting hostels, refuges and community centres, with volunteer dental professionals providing treatment and oral health advice to people at risk of health inequalities. 🌎 Overseas, Dentaid's teams take dental care to communities where it's needed most. We're incredibly proud that Dental Directory has worked alongside Dentaid to help treat 1,347 patients in Uganda. And right now, we're supporting a Dentaid team in Malawi, where one recent morning, they arrived to find a queue of 268 patients, all waiting for dental care. Just imagine that need, in one single morning. This is why the work Dentaid does matters so much, and why we're honoured to play a part in it. Today, we're introducing Jon Higgs, our Director of Operations. 🚀 With more than 30 years' experience across retail and ecommerce distribution, Jon brings a wealth of operational expertise and a proven track record of leading high-performing teams in fast-paced environments. Today, Jon leads our Goods In, Stock Control, Pick, Pack & Despatch, Logistics, Health & Safety and Pharmacy teams, helping create greater alignment across our operations while driving continuous improvement, operational excellence and an outstanding experience for our customers. 📦⚙️ As we continue to invest in our operations, Jon's leadership will play a key role in ensuring we're ready for the next stage of DD Group's growth. 📈 💬 Jon said: "I've always believed that great operations start with great people. Today, we’re celebrating an incredible milestone as one of our colleagues marks 30 years with Dental Directory! 🎉 Sally said: "Thirty years at Dental Directory - where has that time gone? It certainly doesn’t feel that long, until someone points out that they weren’t even born when I started! My journey began on 1st July 1996. I only came along for an informal chat with the HR Manager because my sister worked for Dental Directory at the time. Little did I know that conversation would lead to a career spanning three decades. I started in DD Sales. Back then, orders arrived on reels and reels of paper every day – thank goodness for today’s technology! Alongside processing orders, I answered customer calls and helped in the small warehouse when needed. Picking lists were printed out and carried around on a clipboard, and if a customer requested a copy invoice, we had to visit the archive, search through hundreds of A4 files, photocopy the invoice, and post it out. After a few years, I moved to our budget company, X-Dent and Veterinary Express, where I became Team Leader of a team of four. When X-Dent ceased trading, I moved into Corporates and eventually became Manager. During this period, after ten long years of various operations and treatments, I was given the greatest gift and the best role I will ever have – becoming a mum to my son, who is now 17 years old. I have never made so many people cry in one day as when I announced my pregnancy. So many colleagues had been alongside me throughout that journey, sharing both the challenges and the celebrations. This is one of the reasons I have stayed at Dental Directory for so long – the people truly become an extended family. In March 2017, I moved to MedFX as Contact Centre Manager. In 2022, I was promoted to Operations Manager, Aesthetics & Beauty, followed by another title change in June 2023 to Head of Customer Operations for MedFX UK & Ireland. The biggest change in my career came in April 2026. After spending almost 30 years in customer-focused roles, I stepped completely outside my comfort zone and into the role of Head of Pharmacy Operations. I can honestly say that, so far, I am absolutely loving it and feel completely in my element. Over the years, I have had the privilege of working with and meeting some incredible people, both customers and colleagues. My roles have continually evolved, and I believe that is one of the main reasons I have remained with DD for so long. The opportunities to learn, develop and progress have always been there, supported by a fantastic network of people who genuinely want to see each other succeed. Thirty years later, I am still learning, still growing, and still excited about what comes next. Looking back, I am incredibly grateful for the opportunities, friendships, support, and memories that DD has given me.
