The crypto Travel Rule isn't one rule. It's a different rule in every market you touch. FATF says USD/EUR 1,000. FinCEN says USD 3,000. The EU says zero, every single transfer, no exceptions. And that's before you hit the Sunrise Issue, self-hosted wallet checks, and counterparties running on protocols that don't talk to yours. We mapped it all out: thresholds by jurisdiction and how to build the operational layer that actually works. Link in the comments below.

Crypto never closes. Banking does. That's a hard constraint when you're settling 24/7 stablecoin flows for 30 million accounts, and your customers expect value in seconds. MoonPay. evaluated a lot of vendors for their Iron Virtual Accounts offering. Most were slow to respond and didn't understand the sector. What they needed: one API, access to multiple crypto-friendly banking partners, EUR and GBP, instant rails, no separate build for each one. That's what we do. Read how it works → link in the comments

Big congratulations to our Interim Chief Technology and Product Officer, Saumitra D., for his contribution to the Stablecoins 2035 report "Stablecoins in 2035: Mirroring the End of Globalism." Ten firms across trading, custody, payments, and data were asked where the next decade of stablecoins leads. Saumitra's answer looks beyond the rails to the geopolitics: a world where money movement reflects a fragmenting global order, not a unifying one. Worth your time. Full report below 👇
By 2035, "stablecoin" may not be a word anyone uses. Not because the market fails, but because the infrastructure becomes invisible. Money moves on blockchain rails, and nobody calls it anything but money. That's one of the scenarios in Stablecoins 2035, our new special report. We started with our own H1 2026 data — stablecoins at an all-time-high 81% of institutional OTC trades. In 2023, it was 26%. Then, we asked ten firms across trading, custody, payments, and data where this leads: Flow Traders, GSR, Keyrock, Dune, Chainberg, Fiat Republic, Fipto, Mercuryo, StraitsX, and Hercle. Their answers map out the next decade: which countries export, defend, substitute, channel, or assimilate; why EUR stablecoins grew 32x yet USD still holds 99.87% of flow; what happens when AI agents start transacting; and why the $7T FX market may be the smaller prize next to $400T in tokenized assets. Some of the best conversations at iFX EXPO Cyprus 2026 didn't happen on the conference floor. They happened at #FintechUnplugged, the evening we hosted with Finery Markets and Utila for the people building institutional digital assets. Recap below 👇
iFX EXPO Cyprus 2026 lived up to expectations. But the best networking often happens off the conference floor. During the conference week, Finery Markets, Utila, and Fiat Republic hosted #FintechUnplugged — an evening for institutional digital asset leaders, fintech builders, partners, and friends of the industry. We wanted to create a setting where people could step away from the busy conference agenda and have the conversations that often happen between panels, meetings, and after-hours introductions. Thank you to everyone who joined us, and to Stablecoin Insider for supporting the evening as our media partner. Here’s a short recap from the event.

Crypto markets never close. Traditional banking does. So how does MoonPay., one of the world's leading crypto payments companies serving 30M+ accounts across 180+ countries, keep stablecoin settlement running 24/7? We spoke with Jordan Matthews, Principal Product Manager at MoonPay., to talk through how they power round-the-clock EUR and GBP settlement, why a multi-bank model behind a single API changes the game for capital efficiency, and what made them choose Fiat Republic after a deep vendor due diligence process. The takeaways on instant rails, settlement buffers, and what "crypto-friendly banking" actually means in practice are worth your time. Read the full case study in the comments below 👇

The EU Travel Rule has been live since 30 December 2024, with a zero threshold. Every CASP-to-CASP transfer now carries data obligations, regardless of amount. 85 of 117 FATF jurisdictions have enacted Travel Rule legislation. For crypto businesses, the question is no longer whether it applies but how well your operations handle it. Our Head of European Compliance, Iva Stojanović, has written a full breakdown: thresholds by jurisdiction, the Sunrise Issue, self-hosted wallet verification, and what regulators are actually testing for in 2026.
