  • Freightliner Cannock Training Academy 🚚 The Academy initially established for internal HGV driver training, including annual CPC and ADR driver assessments only. Since then, due to the exceptional depth of knowledge, experience and qualifications of the training team, the academy now runs a selection of courses at their purpose-built Training Academy in Cannock, for both #Freightliner and external HGV drivers. The Training Academy also boasts a new training room which can accommodate up to 20 trainees as well as a branded truck. The training team consists of National Training Manager, Emma Wilson, National Leader Driver Trainer, Mark Tannock and Road Operational Trainer, Andrew Ridgway. All are fully qualified to teach and have a wealth of qualifications between them! The team has also trained on-site assessors at all Freightliner Road sites so that they can carry out training locally. Interested in finding out more? • Freightliner wins DP World Carbon Award! 🏆 #Freightliner was proud to win DP World's Carbon Award in recognition of our participation in their Low Carbon Freight Programme, demonstrating our commitment to turning sustainability ambitions into action. Through the programme, Freightliner qualified for 19,000 litres of HVO to date in 2026 which has been used to fuel our HGVs in Southampton. HVO offers up to a 90% carbon saving when compared to white and red diesel. A huge congratulations to the Freightliner Road team! 👏

🎓 Bringing education closer to the realities of global trade. A few days ago, CMA CGM Excellence Fund for Education scholars from Imperial College London, King's College London, University of Oxford and University of Bath, together with academics and CMA CGM staff members, visited the Port of Southampton and Freightliner's facilities. The visit offered a behind-the-scenes look at port operations and intermodal logistics, helping students better understand the people, infrastructure and expertise that keep global supply chains moving. At CMA CGM, we believe education goes beyond the classroom. Through the Excellence Fund for Education, we are committed to supporting talented students by combining academic opportunities with meaningful, real-world experiences. • #Freightliner is proud to have supported GoExpress in a four-week trial testing 90mph freight services on the UK rail network. Our involvement included supplying and assessing FFA-G wagons for higher-speed operation, loading trial containers at our Garston terminal, hosting a Class 93 hybrid locomotive for the first time, and carrying out daily safety inspections throughout the trial. The project aims to demonstrate how faster rail freight could unlock new opportunities in the growing Courier, Express and Parcel (CEP) market, where rail currently accounts for less than 1% of freight movements. By working together across the industry, we're helping explore new ways to move goods faster, more efficiently and more sustainably. 🛤️

  • In May 2026 Network Rail completed new gauge clearance on the Midland Main Line and associated routes, unlocking for the first time the ability to run high cube (9ft 6in) containers on standard height wagons. Starting this week, #Freightliner will take advantage of this new clearance by diverting our Southampton to Doncaster service via Nottingham and Newark, allowing it to directly access our Doncaster terminal from the South, without having to divert via Sheffield and take a longer route before running round North of the terminal. This will allow us to offer an earlier arrival for our service on this key South Coast to North East Corridor. This service will operate via this route 5 days per week.
