We recently welcomed Jack Martin, a student at Biddick Academy, to Harrison Packaging for his work experience placement. Jack spent the week with our Design Studio team, gaining hands-on experience in the creative and technical processes involved in designing printed carton packaging. During his placement, he: ◾Learned how to use our CAD design software to create and modify carton designs. ◾ Operated our CAD cutting table to produce physical carton samples. ◾ Took part in the trial and development of a new carton design that could be used as a future customer sample. ◾ Learned how artwork is prepared for print and how printing plates are created. It was fantastic to see Jack embrace every opportunity and develop new skills throughout the week. Even more impressively, some of the carton designs he created will now be used for in-house samples. Last week, members of the Harrison Packaging team were delighted to attend the NC Group Ltd Apprentice Awards at Redworth Hall Hotel, celebrating the outstanding achievements of apprentices from businesses across the region. It was a fantastic evening recognising the dedication, commitment, and talent of the next generation of manufacturing and engineering professionals, as well as the employers, mentors, tutors, and families who support their development. At Harrison Packaging, investing in our people is a key part of our long-term strategy, and we're proud to partner with NC Group to support learning and career development across our business with initiatives, including: ◾ A bespoke 16-week Leadership Skills Bootcamp, providing 13 team members with 60 hours of leadership and operational development training. ◾ Our Facilities Technician is currently working towards a Level 4 Engineering Manufacturing Technician HNC. ◾ Our Manufacturing Manager and Technical Manager have recently begun working towards the Level 5 Operations Manager Apprenticeship. Together, these initiatives are helping us build the skills, knowledge, and leadership capability that will support our future growth and ensure we continue to deliver the highest standards for our customers.
