Another week, and investment in the space sector continues to accelerate. 🚀 Over the past week alone, we've seen investment announcements from companies including Venus Aerospace, Beyond Reach Labs (YC W26), SWISSto12 and FLEXELL SPACE. It's another reminder that, despite the headlines, capital continues to flow into businesses solving some of the industry's biggest challenges from propulsion and communications to advanced materials and next-generation space infrastructure. For me, these investments are about more than funding rounds. They signal future growth, new programmes, international expansion and, ultimately, increased demand for exceptional talent. As these businesses scale, attracting and retaining experienced leaders will become just as important as securing investment. It will be exciting to watch how these companies develop over the next 12–24 months. Which investment announcement caught your attention this week? neuco #Space #NewSpace #SpaceTech #Aerospace #Investment #VentureCapital #Leadership #ExecutiveSearch #Hiring #Satellite #Innovation #Growth #neuco

Another day closer to Black Hat Vegas! Hiring is just one piece of the puzzle. As the industry continues to innovate, standing out, attracting the right people, and building a long-term talent strategy has never been more important. In the video attached, Harry Baldwin and Matt Rose from neuco's Cyber Security team are talking about how we support businesses beyond recruitment. If you're struggling to benchmark compensation, define your EVP, understand regional talent markets, or increase your leadership team's visibility, we'd love to have a conversation. These are challenges we're seeing across the industry, and sharing market insight is just as valuable as helping you make your next hire. If you're heading to Black Hat, book a meeting with the team and let's talk.

One of the biggest challenges for any growing business isn't making one great hire. It's making ten. Or twenty. Or fifty, while keeping quality high and the business moving forward. Over the years, we've supported companies across the Satellite, Space, Defence and UAV sectors with everything from six critical hires through to retained partnerships delivering more than 60 appointments over several years. What I've learnt is that when businesses are evaluating recruitment partners, the decision shouldn't come down to who can send CVs the quickest. It should come down to who can genuinely add value. The things our clients tell us matter most are: • Speed, without compromising quality  • Deep industry understanding  • Credibility with the talent they want to attract  • Honest market insight that helps them make informed decisions Recruitment is only one part of the conversation. We've advised clients on salary benchmarking, leadership team structures, talent availability, and even where to establish new teams based on market dynamics. Those conversations often have just as much impact as the hires themselves. When you're planning multiple hires, having a specialist partner who understands your market can take a huge amount of pressure off your internal team and help you focus on what matters most. The right recruitment partner shouldn't just help you fill positions. neuco They should help you build your business. #ExecutiveSearch #TalentStrategy #Hiring #Leadership #ScalingTeams #SpaceIndustry #Defence #Aerospace #Satellite #NewSpace #UAV #BusinessGrowth #RecruitmentPartner #TalentAcquisition #neuco

Investment in LEO isn't slowing down. But for many organisations, the challenge is no longer funding. It's execution👏 One of the biggest factors influencing growth is, of course, talent. Scaling a business is one thing, but scaling it with the right people for your organisation is another. As the LEO market continues to expand, companies are increasingly competing for experienced talent, particularly those with backgrounds in defence, resilience, and tactical connectivity. The crossover between these sectors is creating exciting opportunities, but it's also placing greater pressure on an already limited talent pool. The businesses that will continue to grow successfully are those treating talent strategy with the same priority as investment strategy. Hiring isn't something to think about once funding is secured. It's a critical part of delivering programmes, meeting milestones, and maintaining momentum. At neuco, we're partnering with organisations across the Satellite, Space & Defence sector to help them build the teams needed to support the next phase of growth.

We're excited to share our most recent episode of the Cyber Security Matters podcast with Scott Gainey, Chief Marketing Officer at Checkmarx. With almost 30 years of experience across organisations including Cisco, Palo Alto Networks, SentinelOne and now Checkmarx, Scott brings a unique perspective on how marketing, leadership and cyber security have evolved, and where they're heading next. As AI continues to reshape application security, this conversation explores why AppSec has become one of the industry's most pressing challenges. Scott shares his thoughts on AI's impact from both sides of the equation, creating more code and more vulnerabilities, while also giving attackers increasingly powerful tools. We also discuss what makes great marketing leaders, why successful conference strategies begin long before the event itself, how buying behaviours have changed, and why curiosity and credibility remain essential in today's cyber landscape. Whether you're interested in application security, go-to-market strategy, leadership, or building a career in cyber security, there's something here for everyone. A huge thank you to Scott for joining Matt Rose and Harry Baldwin for such an insightful conversation. Listen to this insightful episode now via the links in the comments!!

🚀 Executive hiring is accelerating across Space & Defence. But why now? As organisations scale, secure investment and expand into new markets, one thing is becoming increasingly clear: the right leadership team can make or break the next phase of growth. We're seeing a significant increase in C-suite hiring across the sector, but the conversations have changed. It's no longer about filling a vacancy. It's about hiring leaders who can create measurable impact. Before launching an executive search, it's worth asking: • What does success look like in the first 12 to 18 months? • Where are the gaps in your current leadership team? • What capability does your business need to unlock its next stage of growth? The organisations that answer these questions early tend to make stronger hiring decisions, while executive candidates who understand how they can solve these challenges stand out from the competition. In the video below, Laurie Scott shares why we're seeing this shift in executive hiring, and what both businesses and leaders should be thinking about in today's market. What changes are you seeing in executive hiring across Space & Defence?

What have we learnt from hiring executive leaders across the Satellite, Space and Defence sectors? As investment continues to flow into the industry, many NewSpace businesses are scaling at pace. With that growth comes the need for experienced leadership to help navigate the next stage. One trend we've seen consistently is that successful executive hiring isn't always about matching the title. For many growing businesses, competing with established satellite organisations on executive salaries isn't always possible. That means looking beyond someone who has already held the exact role. Instead, focus on industry knowledge and technical credibility, and experience scaling businesses through periods of growth. Leadership qualities that complement your existing team and the core skills your business needs today, not simply the title on a CV! The best executive hires are often those whose experience aligns with the challenges ahead, even if their previous title looks different. We've also found that the strongest hiring processes are collaborative. Regular conversations with your recruitment partner, market insights, compensation benchmarking and tools such as psychometric assessments all help businesses make more informed decisions when hiring for high-impact leadership roles. If you're planning an executive hire in Satellite, Space or Defence, we'd be happy to share what we're seeing across the market.

🌍 Relocating for a role isn't just a career decision. It's a life one! Whether you've been approached about a role abroad, or you're weighing up a move yourself, it's rarely as simple as salary vs location. It's culture, cost of living, visas, schools, family, and whether the life on the other side actually fits. Relocation tends to be binary: it either works for you and your family, or it doesn't. And the difference usually comes down to how much thought goes in before you commit. We've put together a breakdown of what's genuinely worth considering, from what your salary really stretches to once tax and housing are factored in, to the emotional side of starting over somewhere new. Find our blog linked in the comments for more information! If you're exploring a move and want to talk it through, or you're a client thinking about how to support relocating hires properly, the neuco team is always happy to help. hello@neuco-group.com
