We are delighted to share that we have secured a new order for a diesel-to-electric truck conversion with sustainable haulage specialist Darcica Logistics | B Corp™. The announcement follows last week’s Road Transport Expo where our truck was on display. NewPower UK has been replacing diesel powertrains with proven battery-electric technology to buses since 2024 and added trucks last year, giving commercial truck operators a lower-cost, lower-waste route to zero-emission operations without replacing the vehicle altogether. This order puts that in action. Darcica Logistics | B Corp™ already an industry leader in low-carbon logistics, is adding the converted truck alongside two new electric vehicles (a 44-tonne and an 18-tonne) as part of its zero-emission strategy. James Bishop, Programme Director at NewPower, said: "We're seeing increasing interest from operators who want to decarbonise but also make smart financial and operational decisions. Darcica Logistics has demonstrated real leadership in sustainable transport, and this order underlines the growing role that repowering can play alongside new electric vehicles in helping fleets accelerate their transition to net zero.” Anthony Tattersall, Co-Founder of Darcica Logistics, added: "Our commitment has always been to find practical ways to reduce emissions without compromising service for our customers. Repowering is an exciting opportunity because it enables operators to retain existing vehicles while transitioning to zero-emission transport. As we continue expanding our electric fleet, we're keen to explore every viable technology that supports a more sustainable future for logistics." Congratulations to all involved! We look forward to seeing the newly repowered truck rejoining the Darcica fleet! #NewPower #Wrightbus #Decarbonisation #NetZero #Haulage #CommercialTransport #Sustainability #ElectricVehicles #Repowering

It was an incredible honour to see HRH Prince William on board a Wrightbus Electroliner last week, along with Robert Irwin and a pair of young Londoners as they traveled Route 2030 making their way to the The Earthshot Prize Impact Assembly. The bus, built by Wrightbus in the UK is operated by Stagecoach London and is Transport for London’s 3,000th zero-emission electric bus, part of the largest zero-emission bus fleet in Western Europe. A fitting way to showcase how zero-emission public transport is helping reduce emissions, improve air quality and support a more sustainable future and another example of the progress and action The Earthshot Prize exists to celebrate. At a time when the news headlines can often feel overwhelming, this journey was fantastic recognition that progress is not only possible, it is already happening. Across every continent, incredible stories of optimism and action are being written everyday. Young people, scientists, communities, cities and businesses are leading the way along Route 2030 towards a better planet for everyone. At Wrightbus, we are very proud to be working with Transport for London, Stagecoach London and operators across the UK to play our part in making a difference for this generation and the next. Driving a greener, cleaner future. Watch Prince William and Robert Irwin on board the bus: https://lnkd.in/e2kZzvDg #Wrightbus #TransportForLondon #StageCoachLondon #EarthShotPrize #Route2030

#FleetFriday | First Bus Bath | Repowered Double Decks We are thrilled to see the introduction of the first repowered electric buses for First Bus enter service in Bath, marking the next phase of fleet electrification in the West of England. Through our repower facility NewPower UK, 27 former diesel Wrightbus double-deckers are being transformed for First Bus into fully electric vehicles. Helen Godwin, Mayor of the West of England, described their arrival as: “a big day for Bath & North East Somerset, with the first green buses now at home at the city’s First Bus depot. It’s also a big day for the whole of the West of England, thanks to our first converted electric buses rolling out too.” Councillor Lucy Hodge, Cabinet Member for Sustainable Transport Delivery at Bath & North East Somerset Council, added: “The arrival of Bath’s first repowered electric buses is great news for our area and for everyone who relies on buses to get around every day.” Across fleets in England and Scotland, more than 70 repowered mid-life StreetDecks have been returned to First Bus and have been described by Doug Claringbold, First Bus’ Regional Director for South and West, as an approach that shows “a real commitment to going even further in our efforts to be more sustainable.” In addition to driveline replacement, the work captures interior and exterior refurbishment, resulting in a bus that feels like new as well as extending vehicle life, reducing waste, and accelerating the transition to cleaner fleets. These vehicles will join additional new electric buses entering service across Bath, Bristol and Weston-super-Mare, helping improve air quality and deliver quieter, smoother journeys for passengers. Congratulations to First Bus and all partners involved in reaching this significant milestone for sustainable transport in the West of England. We are excited to see these buses in service! 211,000 tonnes of CO₂ removed from the atmosphere. That's the impact the Wrightbus zero-emission bus fleet has made so far. Today, on #WorldEnvironmentDay, we celebrate the operators, drivers, engineers and passengers who are helping accelerate the transition to cleaner public transport. Together, our zero emission and ultra low emission buses are delivering cleaner, more breathable air for the communities they serve, helping to create healthier places to live for this generation and the next. “#WorldEnvironmentDay 2026 focuses on climate change on the signals the Earth is sending, and the signals we choose to send back.” It reinforces our commitment to driving sustainable transport solutions for a greener future. But for us, it’s not just one day, it's the passion that drives everything we do, every single day. Together with our customers, we are moving more and more people, with less environmental impact. In the last week alone we have seen orders announced totalling 318 Wrightbus Electroliners, as operators grow their zero emission fleets and head towards their net zero goals. And brand new EV buses aren’t the only option, with our NewPower UK facility surpassing 100 repowered buses joining fleets across the UK, helping to speed up decarbonisation at a fraction of the cost. Thank you to our loyal customers, whose shared vision for a healthier environment is not only driving a greener future, but is helping to support green jobs and green technology at Wrightbus and across our UK supply chain. #Wrightbus #NowForClimate #SustainableMobility #ZeroEmissionBus #CleanTransport #NetZero #publictransport | UN Environment Programme
