After a few months of hard work, we're delighted to be launching our new Impact Report today. It's packed with inspiring customer stories and key statistics that highlight the difference Papworth Trust makes to the thousands of disabled people we support each year. A report like this is a real team effort. From colleagues gathering and analysing data, to customers generously sharing their experiences, and the design process that brings it all to life, so many people have played a part in making this year's report possible. Last night, we were delighted to host the latest Net-Walking event on behalf of the Cambridgeshire Chamber of Commerce. The evening began at our Hawthorn Way site, home to our Day Opportunities service and OWL Bikes, before we headed out for a walk taking in the sights of Cambridge. It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with local professionals, share more about the work we do, and highlight how we support disabled people across our community. Yesterday we welcomed the High Sheriff of Cambridgeshire to our Day Opportunities service in South Cambridgeshire. Francis Burkitt’s visit began with a tour of the service by Gail whilst speaking with customers and taking part in activities including boccia, wildlife watch and cake decorating. It was a great morning where customers could learn more about the position of High Sheriff and what the role entails, and we could explain more about what the Trust does. We were delighted to welcome Lucy and Graham from Cambridge City Council this week to speak with customers as they develop their Equity Strategy. The Council would like to hear from local people about what communities they belong to, what’s important to their community, and what they like and would change about Cambridge. They spoke with 15 customers during the workshop, here’s a snippet of what they had to say…. • Joe said he likes shopping and going to the park, but she doesn’t like the busy traffic. Crime is an issue he cares about as he wants people to feel safe. • Tim said he doesn’t like going into the city centre as it gets too busy. • Claire said she loves living in Cambridge as she knows lots of people and they know her. She doesn’t like the potholes and is worried footpaths aren’t being looked after properly. • Katie said she likes travelling by bus and prefers sitting next to the window so she can see what’s going on. However the buses aren’t always reliable and they don’t have air con, which in the recent heatwaves can make her feel light-headed. Today, on **ERSA's Employability Day**, we're celebrating the achievements of the amazing Routeways to Work students from West Suffolk College! 🎉 Barry and Fleur from Routeways to Work at OWL Bikes were delighted to present certificates to students who successfully completed their modules, recognising their hard work, dedication and progress. It was wonderful to celebrate alongside their families and teaching staff, and we wish every student the very best with their future plans.
