The more time I spend speaking with Australian clinical research sites, the more one theme keeps coming up. Sites aren't looking for more studies. They're looking for the right studies. For many high-performing sites, the biggest challenge isn't a lack of opportunities - it's capacity. They're asking questions like: • Does this protocol fit our patient population? • Is the startup process realistic? • Will recruitment targets reflect real-world practice? • Is the sponsor prepared to work collaboratively when challenges arise? The strongest sponsor-site relationships aren't built on aggressive timelines or ambitious recruitment projections. They're built on trust, open communication and a genuine understanding of what it takes to deliver quality research at site level. As the Australian clinical trials landscape continues to grow, I think we'll see even greater value placed on organisations that treat sites as long-term partners rather than simply delivery channels. I'm looking forward to continuing conversations with investigators, site leaders and research teams across Australia to better understand what enables successful partnerships. What do you think is the biggest factor in creating a successful sponsor-site relationship? #ClinicalResearch #ClinicalTrials #ResearchSites #Australia #SitePartnerships

Building a strong workforce doesn't happen overnight. In the Life Sciences sector, ongoing skills shortages mean organisations need to think beyond filling today's vacancies and consider how they'll develop the talent they'll need in the years ahead. Early talent pipelines aren't just about graduate recruitment. They're about creating opportunities to develop skills, strengthen teams and prepare the next generation of leaders. By investing in emerging talent early, businesses can build a more resilient workforce, reduce future recruitment pressures and develop people who grow alongside the organisation. Long term workforce planning starts with the decisions made today. How is your organisation approaching graduate hiring and early talent development?

A graduate programme is about far more than hiring talented people. It's about giving them the support, structure and opportunities they need to succeed. The strongest programmes don't end after an induction. They create an environment where graduates can learn, grow and build long term careers. Successful graduate programmes are built on four key foundations: > Mentoring to provide guidance, confidence and real-world insight. >Onboarding that helps new starters feel welcomed, prepared and productive from day one. > Progression with clear development pathways and opportunities to build new skills. Retention by investing in people, recognising potential and creating a culture where they want to stay. For employers, this means developing future leaders, strengthening succession planning and improving long term retention. For graduates, it creates the confidence and support needed to thrive from the very beginning. At Quiddity, we believe early talent is a long term investment. The organisations that invest in graduates today are building the workforce they'll rely on tomorrow. What makes a graduate programme stand out to you? We'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments.

Breaking into the life sciences industry can feel daunting, especially if your CV doesn't follow a traditional path. The reality is that there isn't one "perfect" route into the sector. Many successful professionals have started their careers through different experiences, industries and opportunities before finding their place in life sciences. Employers are increasingly recognising the value of transferable skills alongside technical knowledge. Problem solving, communication, teamwork, adaptability and a willingness to learn are all qualities that can help you succeed. Whether you're a graduate, changing careers, returning to work or taking your first step into the industry, don't let an unconventional background hold you back. The right opportunity could be closer than you think. Every career starts somewhere. What helped you break into your role or sector? Share your experience in the comments.

Graduate hiring is often viewed through the lens of short term cost. But in today's market, where many industries continue to face skills shortages, businesses are facing important workforce planning decisions. Graduate recruitment can help organisations build future talent pipelines, develop skills internally, and reduce reliance on an increasingly competitive experienced hire market. While hiring costs are often easy to measure, the long term value of developing future talent can be harder to quantify. The challenge for employers is balancing today's recruitment costs with tomorrow's workforce needs. At Quiddity, we help organisations connect with graduate talent that supports both immediate hiring needs and long-term workforce growth.

Today is World Youth Skills Day, a reminder of the importance of equipping the next generation with the skills and opportunities they need to succeed. Breaking into the life sciences industry isn't always about following one traditional path. As skills shortages continue across the sector, creating accessible entry routes has never been more important. If you're looking to start a career in life sciences, here are five common pathways to consider: > Graduate programmes & apprenticeships provide structured learning, industry experience and a strong foundation for long-term career development. > Internships offer valuable hands-on experience, helping you build practical skills, expand your network and often leading to permanent opportunities. > Manufacturing roles provide technical experience and exposure to regulated environments, creating opportunities to progress into a wide range of specialist careers. > Quality Assurance (QA) develops expertise in compliance, quality systems and attention to detail, skills that are highly valued across the life sciences sector. >Transferable skills from industries such as healthcare, engineering, manufacturing or logistics can also open doors. Employers increasingly value adaptable professionals with strong communication, problem-solving and teamwork skills. Building the future workforce starts by investing in early talent and recognising that there is more than one route into a rewarding career in life sciences.
