📖 Hospitality Secrets | Edition #5 Every industry eventually reaches a point where it risks listening more to itself than to the market. Hospitality is no exception. In this edition, I explore a question that has been on my mind after months of conferences, podcasts and conversations across Europe& US: Have we created an echo chamber? As our industry produces more content than ever before, are we still generating new ideas... or simply repeating the same ones louder? A reflection on conferences, thought leadership, AI, and why the next competitive advantage may not be having more opinions—but asking better questions. I hope you enjoy this edition of Hospitality Secrets. Happy reading. #HospitalitySecrets #Hospitality #Leadership #VacationRental #STR #PropertyManagement #HospitalityInnovation #BusinessStrategy #ThoughtLeadership #AI #Conferences Tara Home Consulting

  • Most hospitality training is teaching the wrong thing. Scripts. Standard phrases. "How may I assist you today?" repeated on autopilot until it means nothing. I grew up in this industry — small family inns, five-star resorts, everything in between. And here's what nobody wants to admit: the guests can tell when they're being processed instead of seen. A few days ago I was back at the hotel where my dad works. A new waiter, still in his first weeks, pulled me aside and asked — almost embarrassed, like it was a stupid question — "What's the secret?" I gave him one word: look. Not "smile more." Not "follow the checklist." Look. See that the glass is almost empty before they raise a hand. See that the couple at table four wants somewhere more tucked away, even though they'll never ask. See that the woman by the window is searching for something she hasn't found the words for yet. That's not a soft skill. It's the only skill that actually matters, and most hotels have trained it out of their staff by turning hospitality into a checklist. And here's where it gets uncomfortable: the same brands that pride themselves on "personalized service" at the front desk are often completely asleep online. Slow replies to DMs. Generic responses to reviews. Instagram stories that show off the pool but never notice the guest who's been trying to ask a real question in the comments for two days. Your guest relationship doesn't start at check-in anymore. It starts the moment they message you and wait to see if anyone's actually paying attention. If your online presence is on autopilot, it doesn't matter how attentive your staff is at the door. The guest already decided who you are before they arrived. Stars don't measure this. Attention does. Where is your brand actually looking — and where is it just performing? ••••• 👉🏻 Book a call with us https://zcal.co/i/SQVAXHZ- ••••• Marco CANGEMI Cristiana Carpini Adriano Carà Marlena Prospato Matilde Prospato Mikele Trambusti Giuditta Regini Cristina Brambini Paul Anderson #TaraHomeConsulting #ShortTermRentals #YouCanDoAnything #WVREC #TaraAirline

📖 Hospitality Secrets – Edition #4 is out. Artificial Intelligence is transforming hospitality at an incredible pace. We celebrate automation because it reduces costs, increases efficiency and simplifies operations. But what happens when the same technology replacing our teams also reduces the number of people who can afford to travel? In this edition, I explore one of the biggest paradoxes our industry may soon have to face: the race towards AI, its impact on employment, and why the future of hospitality is not only about smarter technology, but also about ensuring there are still guests to welcome. Sometimes the most uncomfortable questions are the ones worth asking. Enjoy the read. Tara Home Consulting #AI

Every exceptional stay begins with an exceptional property. At Tecla Collection, we believe that luxury hospitality starts long before a guest arrives. It begins with the trust that property owners place in us and with the responsibility of preserving the identity, value, and character of every home we manage. Our role goes beyond property management. We position each residence to attract the right guests, deliver seamless hospitality, and protect the long-term value of the asset through meticulous care and tailored management. Every decision we make is guided by the same principle: creating value for both homeowners and guests. Because a well-managed property doesn't just generate returns—it builds a reputation, creates memorable experiences, and stands the test of time. If you own a distinctive property and are looking for a partner who combines luxury hospitality with strategic property management, we'd be delighted to start a conversation. #TeclaCollection

  • Many properties are wonderfully warm in person. Thoughtful welcome, attention to detail, that genuine hospitality that makes guests leave five stars without thinking twice. Then you open their Instagram. And it looks like a completely different place. Soulless photos, copy-paste responses to reviews, a website that only talks about rooms and rates. As if online and offline were two different jobs. Two different people. They're not. The guest's journey begins long before check-in. It starts when they read your reviews, when they scroll through your stories, when they send you a message and wait to get a feel for who you are. That moment is already hospitality. Consistency isn't an aesthetic detail. In marketing, we often talk about brand identity and tone of voice. Fair enough, but in vacation rental, it can easily stay abstract. The consistency a property needs is far more concrete: either you have it and it shows everywhere, or you don't and it shows just the same. It means responding to reviews as if you were talking to someone face to face, not filling out a form. It means social content that tells something true about your property, not just the most photogenic sunsets. It means the tone of a welcome email is the same one you'd use to open the door. Online marketing isn't a megaphone. It's the natural extension of what you already do offline, if you truly do it well. The secret, in the end, is always the same. ••••• 👉🏻 Book a call with us https://zcal.co/i/SQVAXHZ- ••••• Marco CANGEMI Cristiana Carpini Adriano Carà Marlena Prospato Matilde Prospato Mikele Trambusti Giuditta Regini Cristina Brambini Paul Anderson #TaraHomeConsulting #ShortTermRentals #YouCanDoAnything #WVREC #TaraAirline

  • I know... it probably feels too early to think about autumn while we're still dealing with broken air conditioning, last-minute cancellations, guest issues, invoices, and the daily chaos of peak season. But that's exactly why you should already be planning for Autumn/Winter 2026–2027. And, if I'm honest... you're already running late. If we look at the signals coming from the financial markets, the outlook isn't particularly encouraging. Much will depend on the outcome of the U.S. midterm elections. We may experience a period of uncertainty, perhaps even a wave of short-term optimism, but markets generally dislike uncertainty. If you're currently looking for major investors or institutional funding, be aware that many may choose to wait during this transition period before making significant decisions. Will it last forever? Of course not. Markets recover. They always do. But confidence—both from investors and consumers—takes longer to rebuild. And that directly impacts our industry. People think twice before booking a holiday. Companies postpone investments.Banks become more selective. This doesn't mean demand disappears. It means the rules change. One thing is certain: The era of "selling everything at any price" is over. Technology is reshaping every industry, including hospitality. Artificial Intelligence. Automation. Data. Revenue management. Direct booking. Operational efficiency. These are no longer competitive advantages, They're becoming the minimum requirement. So ask yourself two questions: What do I want to be known for? And... What do I want to achieve, both personally and professionally? Your answers will become your brand. Your positioning. Your competitive advantage. If you're too small to grow on your own, perhaps it's time to stop thinking only about growth... ...and start thinking about real partnerships. This is the conversation I believe we'll hear more and more over the coming months. Around the world there are large companies dreaming of entering new markets but unsure how to do it without spending a fortune. At the same time, there are outstanding local businesses that have the expertise, the market knowledge, and the relationships—but not always the resources or structure to scale. That gap creates opportunity. Joint ventures. Mergers. These won't simply become trends. For many businesses, they'll become the fastest—and sometimes the smartest—path to growth. The question isn't whether the market will change. It already has. The real question is: Will you be ready when the opportunity arrives? ••••• 👉🏻 Book a call with us https://zcal.co/i/SQVAXHZ- ••••• Marco CANGEMI Cristiana Carpini Adriano Carà Marlena Prospato Matilde Prospato Mikele Trambusti Giuditta Regini Cristina Brambini Paul Anderson #TaraHomeConsulting #ShortTermRentals #YouCanDoAnything #WVREC #TaraAirline
