Driving Sustainability Forward! 🌱 This week, two members of the TMS team had the privilege of attending the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team Sustainability Event at their incredible Technology Centre in Brackley. It was fantastic to meet Alice Ashpitel, Head of Sustainability, and hear first-hand about the team's ambitious sustainability strategy, the progress they're making, and how innovation continues to shape the future of high-performance engineering. The visit also included a tour of the impressive 60,000-square-metre state-of-the-art facility, where Championship-winning Formula One cars are designed, developed, manufactured, assembled and prepared for racing. Seeing the level of precision, technology and collaboration behind one of the world's most successful F1 teams was truly inspiring. At TMS, we're always looking for opportunities to learn from industry leaders and bring fresh ideas back to our own business. Sometimes you've just got to get stuck in... literally! Finishing is a crucial stage in many of the projects we undertake, ensuring every surface is perfectly prepared before the next phase. It's a process that demands patience, precision, and plenty of attention to detail. Our finishing benches are often full when work is flowing through the workshop, but this larger project called for a slightly different approach. Instead of working around the component, the team had to climb inside it and get a little more hands-on to achieve the finish we were after! There's something exciting about seeing a large print take shape on the robot. Every layer has to be planned carefully, every setup checked and double-checked, and every operation optimised to ensure we achieve the precision and quality our customers expect. This particular print (part) is set to run overnight, making the most of our printing capacity while the team gets some well-earned rest.
