Our Creative Hub in Liverpool has been celebrating Disability Pride Month in style! 🙌 Together, everyone created a Disability Awareness Pride flag, shared conversations about what disability means to them, and celebrated the unique qualities that make each of us who we are. The celebrations also included barbecues, games, dancing and plenty of fun! One of the people we support, Katie, even wrote a piece about Disability Pride Month to share with the group. Sometimes the biggest lessons in life happen outside the classroom 🎓️ That's exactly what six ROC College students discovered during a two-week residential in Cyprus, where they volunteered at a local dog rescue, explored a new culture and developed skills that will stay with them long after they returned home. Last month, a group of people we support in Liverpool attended a summer fete at the All Saints School in Anfield, a school we're in proud partnership with. Having previously worked with the school on an art project, it was great to continue building that positive relationship. At the fete, the group sold cards that had been made during arts and crafts, along with necklaces and other items, which was such a positive and rewarding experience. Donna Hall, Service Manager at Creative Hub Liverpool, said: "I saw people who initially felt nervous and anxious come out of their shells throughout the day. They felt proud and confident to hand out leaflets about our service, engaging with people and speaking with members of the public to promote the name change, explaining what we do, and taking payments for the items they sold. It was so wonderful to see their confidence grow and watch them become more comfortable communicating with others." The event also gave everyone the opportunity to develop new skills, step out of their comfort zones, and be involved in the community. We can't wait to work with All Saints School again in the future! #SummerFete #community

Yesterday, our Devon, Plymouth and Torbay teams, including our Director of Engagement & Development, Ali Gunn, and the Trustee and Chair of the Education Governing Committee, Steve Maltby, came together for the end of year ROC College Student Celebration Awards, recognising the incredible achievements of our students over the past year. From Functional Skills Qualifications and OCN London Awards to qualifications in mechanics, horse care, lash technology and more, there was so much to celebrate. The event also featured a brilliant performance from Zac, who sang in front of about 60 students, families and colleagues. Congratulations to all of our students—we're so proud of everything you've achieved! 💜 #ROCCollege #FurtherEducation
